Emery
- Brown, greying hair is long enough to be tied in the tiny half-up.
- Dark brown beard. Sometimes shaved, but even then there's stubble

Generally thoughtful and self-disciplined Emery isn't the easiest man to befirned. He likes people well enough but likes to keep them arm lenght. Not that he is suspicious or secretive, he finds it little bit more practical to keep to himself most of the time. The idle chatter doesn't bother him, in fact he quite enjoys being around animated, rambling people, but he himself talks very carefully if at all and may seem distant.
He has a tactical and realistic approach on everything and is good and quick thinking on his feet. It's hard to shake his world and he always seems like calm and collected even in the most stressfull situations. His overall demeanor evokes a certain natural authority and it helps that he's very adamant of doing his job well, whatever it means. Emery likes to take care of his crew and has never taken any of them granted nor his position as a leader.
Under all of that uniform garnish Emery is gentle, quietly happy person, who seems to enjoys little things and smile easily. He enjoys people around him but he likes solitude as much thinking it's good for the body and soul. Though being very good at keeping himself and others together in highly stressful situations, since he's used to and trained for them, he might be a little bit more nervous and overthinking about simple everyday things, like changing a barber or getting a message from his kid's teacher. Hostile aliens taking over a spaceport? No problem, he can handle that. Calling to his crush to ask them for a coffee? Absolutely not.
- Grinds his teeth when sleeping. He should probably have some kind of braces for that.
- Has fear of needles. He tolerates them but seeing the needle makes him whoozy.

- Though not very thick, he has an accent; it sounds something between danish and russian

- Though techinally a veteran, he has no benefits or titles since he fought for the rebels.

Born and raised in the colonies, Tomas Emery has only ever known a certain kind of life. For him it has all been very straight-forward; the childhood, the military training, the job. There’s rarely been a hesitation on his part, he just always followed the clear and certain plan he made for himself.
Until he didn’t.
It would be embarrassing to admit how little it took to crush his plan to the little pieces. One day, he was very contently following orders and the next someone said or did something that made him see how low the current government had sunk in their hunger for power.
Emery started to question his bosses, their motives, their choices, and when he started to address them publicly - well, that’s when things really took a new turn.
Apparently there had been an underground group planning to take care of the corrupted government. Emery wasn’t keen on joining anything so extreme but he ended up working with them. During the Great Intergalactic War between the different parties, he was (to his own surprise) nicknamed the Rebel Captain trying to lead the miscellaneous group of ships and crews to have so kind of structure.
The war was short, luckily, but it took back by being intense and messy. No party came out of it squeaky clean.
The peace was made, the Intergalactic union got their new government and ‘the rebels’ formed their own state, Mirage, as far as they could from Intergalactic Anything without severing the ties completely.
Emery continued doing what he did before the war, being the captain for the space vessel, only now he had a different boss. Certainly, his actions during the war make some relations difficult but the most of the planets and their people don’t really care in the way or another. And they shouldn’t. Especially since Emery’s ship isn’t a military vessel at all but it was made for purely exploration and research.
What comes for Emery’s personal life, he hardly ever talks about it. However, it’s not a secret that he is married to one of the rebel diplomats, and they have three children. Other than that, it’s not really known what the man does in his free time. People like to speculate, but Emery actually lives a relatively normal family life.
