Title: Fashion Leader

Vivienne, as you might know, is not a known name amongst the Xaela. See, the way the Xaela traditionally live in their home Azim Steppe is quite different from the citystates of Eorzea. The Xaela about herding livestock, hunting, fighting, gathering, herding livestock and so on,, with the Dotharl tribe being especially fond of battle and gore. But that was never Vivienne’s thing: she found her tribe's way of life violent and ‘brutal’, a view that only solidified as trading merchants from Eorzea visited to trade with her fellow clansmen. They charmed her young heart their fancy spelltomes, expensive clothing and high-tech gear… so, in an act of teenage rebellion and curiosity, a little Dotharl girl runs away from her tribe one day, leaving behind her real name and family, living on as just “Vivienne”.

Vivienne lands in Limsa Lominsa by boat and begins to study the art of summoning, as she felt that fighting through spells and a pet is less direct and brutal, and much more preferable to hands on combat. She works her way around the city and the world doing odd jobs, working as not quite a mercenary, but more of a delivery girl. Pirates looking for extra hands on their operations, a daughter looking to deliver a package to her mother out of town, a townsman looking for a person to escort him safely out of town -- anything you need, she'll help you... for a price. Through her odd jobs, she gains connections and gathers money for what she wants to achieve: a place in academia, amongst what she deemed the intellectuals of Eorzea. Her views on life when she was young was as follows: Azim Steppe, home: barbarian, violent, left behind. Eorzean cities: advanced, stylish, civilized, better

Throughout her travels and questing in order to earn a fortune to afford her tuition, she hears of faraway places such as the Scholasticate in Ishgard. She had never heard of the place in her homeland, and was intrigued by the very idea of it all. Being able to spend time in higher society, dedicating herself to studies and surrounding herself with people she deemed like-minded seemed wonderful. However, reality was not as glamorous as she had imagined. Poverty, prejudice and indoctrination all ran wild. Is this what high society and civilization looks like? She applies nonetheless, studying part-time, but continues doing odd jobs on the side to widen her horizons and learn more about different cultures, and gradually, her views on life broaden.

She matures throughout the years and starts getting more comfortable around different kinds of people. Meeting beast tribes and seeing injustice around the world, she begins to understand the beauty of different cultures and the importance of understanding and helping one another. She broadens her horizons in terms of combat as well, taking on classes besides summoner, seeing as traveling has made her more resistant to things she found displeasing, such as melee combat. By continuing her research and busywork, she amasses quite the fortune along the way.

Vivienne still has a soft spot for the fancier life: she loves fashion, fancy wine, and gambling especially. Oh, the lights and vibrant colors of the Gold Saucer! But she does not overindulge, and gives most of what she has to causes she finds worthy, such as the Ishgard restoration, or helping the people of Ala Mhigo. Though she has been present at political meetings between city state leaders, she has more or less come to the realization that if she wants something achieved, she will take strides towards it herself, on her own. When she was told to fit in with the Dotharl or leave, she chose to leave and pave her way for herself. And so, when she witnesses what she deems injustice, she does her best to help by herself, even if by a small margin.

Through her travels, her view on her home have changed for the better, as well. Although she will never quite completely fit in within the tribe, she has made peace with her family and goes by a combination of her own name and her clan -- Vivienne Dotharl. She does not visit home often, but makes sure to have the occasional awkward family visit every now and then.
