The first warm breeze of spring after a long winter, the smell of flowers wafting over the fading stale smell of melting snow, that burst of energy and inspiration that strikes when the sun finally returns: That's Tae. Uplifting, fun-loving, and encouraging, Tae lives to show people their potential. His two Youtube channels are full of positivity, constantly encouraging his viewers to follow their dreams, "do your thing", and live life to the fullest. A glass-half-full kind of guy, Tae is a people person and ready to please. He thrives on human contact and is always looking for new friends and memories. He believes he can learn more from other people's experiences than he ever could from school or work and thrives to give back to the community by sharing his life with others.

A flirt and tease, Tae loves to poke gentle fun at people, to get them riled up. He believes laughter is the best medicine and is a firm supporter of the notion that you can't love anyone else before you love yourself. He isn't afraid to throw in some tough love, and has very little tolerance for self-doubt and self-pity. Though he seems overall cheerful, he's not afraid to get realistic if he needs to. If you deserve a punch in the face to get out of a slump, Tae's not afraid to deliver. He lives to build people up, to boost their confidence, and will do whatever it takes to cheer someone up. This comes from the part of him who is afraid that his college depression will resurface. Though most say it is unhealthy, he squashes his negative emotions under human contact and overwhelming encouragement. He's endlessly loyal once you get close to him and will literally fight for you if it comes down to it.

Most of Tae's personality comes from his mother. She was constantly giving him advice and tidbits on how to be a better person, and after her death, he really took them to heart. The two of them were very close. He's very patient with people and does his best to listen to their troubles and do whatever he can to make them feel better. There will always be the small part of him that wishes he had gone into a career of counseling-- but he injects any positive message or life-advice he can think of into his videos, usually signing off with an uplifting quote or speech about how important the viewer is. Tae is a shoulder to cry on, someone to run to when things look their best. Even though his apartment is TINY, he'll extend an invitation to anyone that needs somewhere to spend the night.

Tae is a social butterfly. He's constantly updating his social media, adding contacts, taking selfies, tweeting, snap chatting, vlogging-- you name it! He's passionate about making connections and will even approach people he's never met before just to compliment them or ask them where they got their shoes. He always seems to be headed to a party or event. Concerts, galleries, art installments, meet-ups, anything is fair game. Though he's not one for professionalism, he's a bit of a workaholic. Since his career is unconventional, people around him don't tend to realize that he's doing his job at all times. He tries to have his foot in every door possible and strives for positive business relationships wherever he can get them. He's a bit self-absorbed, more interested in the business aspects of relationships and the gains he can get out of them, than growing meaningful friendships. Rumors have circulated that he's probably up to something, considering his sizable network, but there's no telling if those are true.

History:

Tae never knew his father, and he grew up with his mother who was a hair and make up artist for a modeling agency. Ever since he was a child, he was emerged in fashion and make-up culture, and was fascinated by his mother's work. He started doing his own hair and nails when he was as young as 8, which his mom would document on her blog. With the encouragement of his mother's co-workers, Tae started his own beauty blog when he was just 10 years old, which grew in popularity over time. People started asking him for instructional videos, which he would upload to his blog. When he was 13 he started his first Youtube channel where he uploaded weekly nail art and make-up videos. This channel is still around! He's still uploads weekly and has just shy of 1 million subscribers.

He started skateboarding when he was 14, after visiting America with his mother and staying in Long Beach, California for 3 years. Here, he met a lot of friends that he still keeps up with regularly. They taught him how to skate. Tae took to it, begged his mom for his own board and spent most of his time in America at skate parks and behind high schools, skating whenever there was enough daylight. As much as the skateboarding scene is lacking in Korea, Tae was determined to keep skating even after returning home, and started up his second Youtube channel, which he used to show his American friends his progress. Eventually this turned into more of a daily vlog. His skate channel has just over 300k subscribers and is growing.

Tae was in college for cinematography and cosmetology when his mother died on the eve of his 20th birthday. Though he tried to keep his chin up and focus all of his attention into school and work, he was hospitalized due to stress and depression. He dropped out of college. For nearly a year there was radio silence across the board for him. He lost nearly seventy pounds (32 kg) and spent months in rehabilitation for his illness. When he recovered and started working again, he built himself out of the hole he'd fallen into and slowly raised himself back up. He started making videos again and addressed his mother's death (since she appeared in many of his videos) but never spoke about his hospitalization or weight loss, even going so far as to ignore comments or questions about it. He doesn't like to talk about this part of his life and for the most part, pretends it never happened.

With nothing to distract him anymore, Tae poured himself into his work. He started uploading videos daily. With a boom in productivity, his channels took off, and his Etsy shop was filled with projects. His videos started garnishing more attention, and Tae made a name for himself. He was recruited for RFA for his online presence and strong connections in the beauty industry. He had the perfect platform to pull in party guests and advertise events, as well as the pseudo-celebrity contacts to make events seem all the more special. He accepted right away on the condition that he could continue his daily blogs and occasionally document the parties he attended. He loves his job and uses it to further his career.
