He is a half-demon half-human. 

Asmodeus used to be fully a human until he was cursed on an adventure leading him to start to become a demon. He usually hinds under all his baggy clothing because he is self-conscious and often feels like a monster in his own hometown, his own friends turned their back on him and he is neither fully accepted by the demons or humans.
