Just notes for now I need to organize this entire thing better, and probably word it better too. -Aurelia and Balthus were at the Academy together, and Lia has had a thing for Balthus every since then.
-Like it was a bit of a joke that Balthus was the only one who really didn't notice it.
-She was just this unsure little thing who had barely been off her family lands, and she accidentally ran into Balthus. Who was actually very good looking?
But then she kept getting pulled into whatever trouble Balthus and Holst were causing and patching them up after they did something stupid. But she despite that she ended up really finding Balthus unintentionally charming. He and Holst sort of encouraged her to come out of her shell.
-After graduation she tried to keep in contact with him, but then Balthus just hands his title over to his younger brother and basically disappears. She managed to hear word from him a time or two, but he was clearly avoiding almost everyone.
-He showed up her family's lands while she was away on an errand. Her father cautiously let him stay for a little bit. Lia returned to find Balthus gone, and her father furious because one of their storehouses had been wrecked and her father blaming Blathus for it. Lia, worried, says she'll go after him herself to make up for it. She hopes that if she finds him she can find out what really happened, and they can figured out what to do about it. But then he drops off the face of the earth again.
-She's worried about him as she stops hearing from him, but tries to remind herself that someone like Balthus won't sneak off to die quietly. And more practically, since apparently her father isn't the only person he'd managed to piss off, none of the bounty hunters that are also looking for him had reported success. She was fairly certain she would hear if he had been caught at least.
-Then one day, she brings a delivery to Garrag March and hey, there's Balthus. Just...there. Like he belongs. She's incredibly relieved to see him, but also annoyed at him for just wandering off and worrying her. She kind of ends up yelling at him for a bit until she gets distracted by Hilda showing up. When she turns back to Balthus, he's already gone.
-Eventually tracks him down in the Abyss, which catches him off guard. Initially she just wants answers about the whole storeroom thing, but she also just kind of wants to talk with her old friend too. She thought that, given what a mess Balthus had made of his life, her attraction would have faded but to her surprise she found it coming back instead.
-She really likes being with him, and he's still good looking. Eventually she realizes that she's actually probably kind of falling for him?
-Has gotten a lot more confident in the years since they were in school together though, and after a bit of thought decided to just go for it and actively starts hitting on Balthus? Catches him off-guard a bit since she was not like this in school. But he actually really likes it?
-They actually have a lot of fun bantering back and forth , and a lot of playful flirting/suggestive comments. She totally teases him about the King of Grappling thing and his debt, but tries to help him get things under control. He sort of argues about her helping though, since he doesn't want to have anyone else bothered with it.
-Totally doesn't mind admiring him though. Just sayin, she doesn't mind when he's shirtless at all.
