Switches moods at a drop of a hat, easily going from aloof to excited to angry if she feels like it, it's difficult to guess what's sitting in her head. When not paying attention to others, she seems to be practically turned off - blank and silent, and eerily still. When she does pay attention, her default first reaction is to act cheerful and friendly. Is embarrassed of her home life, and will make up lies on the spot to cover it when asked.

Background

Born in Yukyu, where she was raised by her single mother as an unpaid servant rather than a daughter, Tsubaki is responsible for taking care of her and the house - a house that is larger than a single woman should be able to afford. Rarely goes anywhere after school, and if she does, tends to have an attack of 'clumsiness' between getting home and going to school the next day. Has no idea who her father is, and used to dream of him finding her and taking her away, but at this point is pretty much resigned to her life, and wouldn't know how to live it differently. Lives with the knowledge that her mother is going to sell her to a brothel when she stops being useful, so doesn't rebel too much aside of schooltime, where she's sure the information of what she's up to will not reach home.
