History
Of course, growing strong enough to outsmart two other Quetzalcoatl isn't easy. He eventually finds himself on Shérok, taking care of a dragon he never thought he could bond with, seeking out everything he could learn about the magic of the world. From elemental dragon magic to Ere spells to Irrit charms, he does his best to learn them all. A person that looks and feels exactly like Prospero appears, though he has a completely different past and even different dragons to the ones he knows. This Prospero gives him the name Ezra Lewis as a way of distinguishing himself from the other. Seeing as they bonded once already, it was a matter of time before their romance sparked again.
Once more, it couldn't be that simple. They were separated and Marshasp was plunged into a bitter hatred of the world, seeking vengeance however he could against his fellow Quetzalcoatl, the slave traders of Shérok, the nobility of Eredia and the Abrendese, and anyone who looked at him crossly. He easily fit in among the Shéar Rebellion, though his interests laid more in causing suffering than ending it.

Relations
Prospero was Marshasp's first love--and possibly only love. He failed to protect Prospero when they left Teteocan, resulting in Prospero's near-death. Or death. He doesn't really know which. Once he's strong enough to ward off another Quetzal's venom and injuries, he will return. It would be easy if the story stopped there, but it doesn't. He encounters a doppelganger of Prospero--conveniently bearing the same name--and falls in love again. Only to be separated again. Needless to say, Marshasp's a little angry about everything now.
When Marshasp hatched his first dragon, the people around him insisted he go to Tsotska d'la Mer to learn more about dragons. Iapetus recognized him as a Quetzalcoatl and, seeing he had nowhere better to go, boarded him in his own hatchery for watching over. Marshasp learned the basics of dragon riding from him and Iapetus quickly realized he was harmless. They could almost be called friends now, though Iapetus would never admit to having such a thing.
Lloredo was the one who captured the Seasonal Wind and freed Marshasp; As such, Marshasp feels indebted and quite glad to remain on the ship and work for the Rebellion. While Lloredo is aware of his species, the man has seen so many dangerous creatures and persons among the Naki that a quetzal doesn't even phase him. He's taught Marshasp about practical non-dragon-related things. His Jungle dragons are cute to look at and listen to, but very annoying to interact with, so Marshasp is careful not to be caught alone in a swarm of them.
He doesn't get along with kids; That much is plain. Kija doesn't get along with anyone. These two only interact when forced to by Iapetus or Prospero. It's not that they hate each other--they just don't have a reason to become friends. Marshasp does respect her ability to play the lyre, and her dragons are peculiar to him on a philosophical level, but otherwise even their dragons don't interact.
