Personality: Koi is bubbly and sweet. She always has a lot on her mind and on her plate but she'll always make time for you and make you feel important. Friendly, thoughtful, compassionate.

Bio: Koi is a water breathing, under-the-sea girl. She was born to two mothers in the Atlantic Ocean. Her mothers were members of the government in their home city of Atlantia. One of her moms (Fiona) was an executive chief monitor of sea-people relations. Her other mother (Octavia) was like their city's governor. Fiona worked hard to be the voice of all creatures, keeping everyone as happy as possible and translating during crucial meetings. Octavia managed daily relations with other leaders.

Throughout her childhood Koi learned not only about all the different creatures in the ocean, but she was taught about humans. Koi never believed humans were dangerous until she saw whaling boats and crab fishermen when she was six. After that, she could barely leave home let alone go out to school. It took her mothers months to coax her back into normal life. But the lesson worked and she never thought about the cruel humans again until she was sixteen.

Koi made friends quickly in school. Her teacher was an octopus hybrid species (hybrid with what exactly, no one knows) who taught her students even more about the ocean and the world around them. Koi learned about diversity, and even began to see the humans as living creatures deserving of kindness again. She had her first crush when she was in middle school, and at a similar time her mother (Octavia) got pregnant again. Koi was very excited and helped her moms prepare for the baby. But when the time came for the egg to be laid, the baby was already gone. Her mom and her had to spend weeks taking care of a heartbroken Octavia. While her moms were away from work, a group of sea creatures known as Merfish (different from Merpeople) attacked their city of Atlantia. Koi's moms blamed themselves for getting distracted. Everyone in the city who lived had to be moved to Altia a larger city that was ready to help the refugees.

When Koi was sixteen she fell in love with a human. She was not stupid enough to approach her, but for months she dreamed about the girl, wishing she could talk to her. She became distracted and wanted to spend all her time near the water's edge, Her mothers scolded her for getting close enough to the shore to spot the girl and eventually grounded her. So Koi ran away from home. Somehow she landed in the shore and spotted her crush. The girl saw her and took her into her home where she lived out her days in a fishbowl. Since Koi could not communicate with her, she could not explain how degrading life in the bowl was. But she enjoyed watching the girl through the clear glass. Luckily, the girl was home schooled and had no other friends except Koi, so nobody spotted the tiny fish girl in the bowl. Koi broke free and returned home, with mixed feelings about the girl and all humans in general. Her moms were happy to have her back and they have lived happily since.

Strange facts about them: Koi actually has gills. (so she can breath ofc) She is actually supposed to have a tail but does not because of a birth defect. She has a seaweed allergy. (Similar to humans having a grass or pollen allergy.) Koi is only a few inches tall. Koi's species is unknown to most humans and does not speak English. She is vegetarian.

Something they'd say: "Oh stop being Koi with me!" (She likes bad puns.)
