Pulin was terrified of the idea of cubs, that he would mess up and influnce them badly. He had a previous mate whose cub didnt survive and he blamed himself for the early death. He also was tricked as a cub by an older lion leading to his pessimistic nature. However, with the help of his mate Agan he spoils his daughter Jelia and makes sure no harm comes to her.
