Although Chyr and the King of Xluka fight in their own war, civilians gathered in the center Demention, Merlin, have split into a Light v. Dark standing. Those who support Light support a world without souls, and those who support Dark want a world where souls are vindicated and overule spirits. Even though they may not be all be spirits, those who support the Light are in it for preventing a more chaotic lifestyle to overrun the Dementions. They esentially reject Chyr's future, where souls can freely steal spirit's bodies without repreocussions. (Allegedly.)
