Nami Whittaker

Nami is a dolphin mermaid, that‘s obvious. However, what isn’t is that she was raised by humans. When she was just a baby, she was found alone on the beaches of Cape Lookout. It is unknown what happened to her original parents, but the group that found happened to be a loving family. After a process involving a government agency designed to handle and protect mythical/liminal species, she was adopted into the family. Even with her tail, she’s adapted to various quirks of human life. She would be homeschooled for convenience and utilizes a wheelchair to move around home. And despite her being raised with land habits in mind, she still enjoys being able to “stretch her tail” and swim in bodies of water. 

Even with the circumstances behind her and her family, Nami has adapted to life on life pretty well. She lives on a farm close to the Carolina coastline with her family, with nearby access for her needs to swim. Nami helps out however she can with them on the farm despite her predicament with a tail. She enjoys getting to watch the horses and cows stroll around in the pastures or the view of the forests in the area. Often, she’ll be seen drawing them or painting them with acrylics. Nami also enjoys other hobbies as such playing video games and indulging in anime and manga in her spare time.
