The region of Människors has no native starter Pokémon of its own, but it shares some with other regions. As is customary, Ludovica was given to Auria as a Popplio to mark the start of her career as a trainer. While battling did not prove to bring Auria any closer to her goals, she found other ways to bond with Ludovica and eventually found true love in her.
Ludovica's case helped prove to the scientific community beyond a reasonable doubt that Pokémon experience gender identity and expression similarly to humans.
