Riojo starts off his journey as an aloof an unsocial kid. His adoptive father is an elf who taught him fencing, which Riojo took a keen interest in. When Riojo isn't in the training yard honing his swordsmanship, he's inside making sculptures out of clay. These are the only two things Riojo seems to care about, as he isn't too worried about making friends within his home town, much to his father's frustration. One day, knights sent by the king request that Riojo come with them to the capital city of Yewlissia, where he is apparently needed thanks to a magical marking on his left hand. Riojo is reluctant, but eventually agrees to make his father proud. On the way, he meets a wide variety of characters and makes many friends. He eventually develops from the lonely kid who keeps his distance, to a friendly and kind young man who just wants to do good for people. Though he struggles to find his place in the world, he eventually discovers things about the planet he lives on and the kind of person he is.
Riojo is half dragon, and often finds himself struggling to feel comfortable with these two sides of his soul.
