☕️ The "sweetheart" of Siege Couture, one of the lead mascots to the designer brand. Analogous to the bold and vibrant tones of Taliesin, Odelisse was fashioned to suit appetites of subtler tint. With a milky white color, pastel ombres, and floral motifs, he is evocative of hand-painted porcelain. Aptly though, he is just as brittle and imprudent to mishandle. It takes one butterfingered move to get this Grem to a point beyond outrage.

PERSONALITY

One would immediately notice this Grem's stubborn quiet. While it could be interpreted as gentility, his looks misrepresent his true temper. Odelisse is emotionally inelegant: fraught with anxiety and loathing of pleasantries. A lot of frustration comes from past troubles, and drawn-out comparisons to his fellow models. While he does enjoy the craft behind the fashion industry, he doesn't bear a taste for the pageantry of it. Attention seems to fluster him too much, and springing a conversation on him causes him to clam up further. Of all facets of socialization, physical memory is the strongest for Odelisse in how he interacts. An individual he ends up comfortable enough to share an embrace with will likely see him return for the same time and time again. Likewise, he won't trust being close to someone if they step on his toes or pull his fur on accident.

JOB / HOBBIES

Odelisse works within his company as a promotional model. While his partner galvanizes the clientele with radiance and charm, he encompasses all things gloss and opaque. He poses as a subject more delicate and demure. Generally he is instructed to not smile for photos — a requirement that seemingly sticks with him outside of work. It's a chore for him to be pulled onto new sets, but once on the scene, he grouchily participates. Outside of his job, Odelisse seeks utmost privacy. While his instances of wanting company are rare, he prefers one-on-one interactions with familiar faces. He has a giant donut bed that is his space of ultimate comfort; he picks it up and relocates it often to his desired space of the day. He also has a huge sweet tooth and sneaks treats all the time.

HISTORY

Odelisse was crafted to stir sensation. The approval for his making was up in the air for a while. When he was introduced at last, the dainty Grem sparked volatile public adoration: a marked success for his company. Perhaps most excited of all was Taliesin, who latched onto their partner the moment he arrived from GremCrops. With Odelisse's release came a product line of clothes boasting flourishing patterns that delighted the masses. Commemorative merchandise featuring his likeness sprung up, including plushes, pillows and dishware. He had arrived wholly acquiescent to the plan, and tended to everything on his plate with poise. In those times, he didn't exude much of a personality. He served, and thought himself fulfilled.

At first Odelisse didn't struggle with fame. His pristine life was turned on its head though after an entanglement with overeager fans. During his first public meet-and-greet, his security was breached by hands that insensibly wrenched him into dozens more uncaring clutches. All of them pulled painfully despite his protests, and the small Grem could only be extracted by bodyguards. It severely spoiled what serenity he had towards admirers. Even with the publicity around the incident shaming fans, his personal space was always infringed upon in later occasions, his feelings tarnished further. Odelisse's animosity grew until he refused to enter into public anymore. His company, understanding the negative impact, respected this. There has always since been a lasting disconnect though, and it's a strain to get him to cooperate with his work.

Needless to say, it swayed his outlook on relationships too. For a time it affected him with Taliesin, but their blunt natures helped them recover their bond. Meanwhile, Odelisse became moody and withdrawn. He strives to find self-worth beyond his own notion as a flunked marketing campaign, lingering as an ornament to others' success. The spite in him boils over into outbursts at times. He doesn’t direct his frustration at any one thing in particular. More often, Odelisse destroys company property, and in return is placated with even more lavish possessions he doesn’t delight in. No one managing the young Grem can really guess how to remedy his hurt; after all, he refuses to delegate himself to some project to patch up his shattered pride.

Perhaps the biggest blessing for Odelisse was discovering his powers to manifest porcelain from his hands. It's proven cathartic to produce endless fountains of fragile sculptures — then crush them to dust. Since his owners are unaware of this ability of his, it's satisfying making them fret over mystery piles of ceramic bits.

Relationships

Taliesin  [ counterpart / best friend ]

Odelisse's partner, who has inordinate amounts of affection for him. Even if Ode struggles to tolerate their embraces, he is protective of Taliesin like no other. They squabble and tussle like siblings, but equally as often are found snuggled close or getting into trouble together. For a time, he shunned Tally after he grew reclusive, though it didn't last. Oddly, Odelisse was able to convey his hurt to the other and have them understand, despite their frivolous ways of thinking. To this day, it's difficult dealing with his burdened feelings: perceiving himself a waning star in his companion’s twinkling stardom. But Taliesin always encourages him where he falters, and he is quietly grateful for it.

Gwyndolin  [ best friend ]

A fellow model in Siege Couture that Odelisse somehow stumbled into a special bond with. Though Gwyn works for a sub-brand in the company [OPULENCE], their mutual work in the industry often brings them into close quarters during meetings and promotional events. Being near the larger Grem brings great comfort, so he's very often seeking him out on and off the clock. Ode is highly confidential about about his relationship with Gwyn, savoring the shared intimacy between them best when they can avoid intrusion or assumption by third parties. He gets turns furious otherwise if they're interrupted.

Dietrich  [ spokesperson ]

Odelisse doesn't have many opinions on Dietrich. While she is in a form of management over himself and Taliesin, she isn't monitoring them or dictating them to be on their best behavior. For that, her presence is bearable, and her graceful nature is even somewhat soothing at times. However, her position in the company is an inevitable deterrent for him to be open with the elder Grem. He couldn't possibly foster closeness with someone who regales the same senseless mobs that ruined him.

Leonie  [ bodyguard ]

Taliesin's and Odelisse's primary bodyguard, though arguably she attends to Tally more so than himself. Ode has no need for a chaperone when he is easy to find most of the time: sequestered in his room with little desire for exploration. Therefore his interactions with Leonie are infrequent but acceptable. She attempts smalltalk with him that he vaguely obliges, but seems to recognize that he is very closed off. Her interactions with him have only needed to be hands-on when he and Tally fight.
