Kalyan is no different from any other midmith in the current era. Involuntarily conscripted into the Salbasha Volunteer Corps by corrupt puppet leaders, they have been a servant of the Salbasha since the age of three, their clan name and kith name stripped from them.

No longer remembering their homeworld of Sattamber, they grew up on the Corpsmen central base of Stenrroc Id with their companions Noa, Rhissil, and Vala. They spent the majority of their adult life as one of Jaromir's stewards, until a string of tragic happenstance put them at the end of their leader's blade.

Kalyan died young, alone, and unfulfilled, but oblivion has not yet come for them, as they find themself awake in some strange afterlife, a concept alien to their culture.
