Tucker is a soldier in the British Army during WWI. As an individual, he is loving, empathetic, patient, persistent, strategic, and brave, and is recognised by others for his resourcefulness and keen intelligence. He enjoys partaking in enlightening activities, such as exploring the literary arts and nature in his pursuance of self improvement.
However apt he may prove to be, though, he covertly struggles to deal effectively with his emotions, particularly the anguish of war and his complicated feelings for another soldier, Harry, a blend of both adoration for his lover, and fear for what might happen to them should someone find out about their relationship.

Harry
[ significant other ] Harry is Tucker's boyfriend. They spend much of their time together going about their routines in the trenches, and they met during wartime when Harry approached Tucker asking him for alcohol. Harry was very obviously stressed, a concerning part of him that no one else managed to see, so Tucker talked to him then and every day after that. The two bonded having their long and intimate conversations, sometimes about very personal issues, and other times about their shared most lighthearted interests: cats and flowers. Tucker soon realised his feelings for Harry had turned romantic, and though for long he wouldn't express so verbally, much of his private writing was concentrated on his found affection for his fellow soldier. The two came to recognise that there was an irrefutable ardor between themselves, so over the long and enduring course of their military service, Tucker was involved in a secretive relationship with Harry, which would be challenged not only by societal pressure against same-sex relationships, but also by the deathly conditions they faced living in the run-down trenches of the First World War.
