Profile

A solitary kelpie Dasher who lives in the dense peat marshes near the Crest Falls for many a year, his existence has become somewhat of a legend to the local people there.  Tales of a mysterious creature with four glowing eyes, a mouthful of fangs and a mournful cry shrouded in thick mist harboring the souls of the lost is enough to keep the children of the villages and various travelers scared and wary to not go out at night and leave the marshes alone.  Only the swamp StarRobbers seem to take his existence seriously, but they might be mistaking his appearance for someone else…?

In actuality, Kaitzur is an herbalist who grows rare plants to sell to medicinal mages.  Since he has lived alone in the bogs for such a long time, no one really knows that much about him anymore except his clients, and even then it’s still a bit of a mystery.  With a large and hulking figure hunched over from years of working in the fields, he towers over many a Stardragon.  In the gloom of the swamps, his eyes and gems do indeed give off a faint and eerie glow and the miasma of the bog seems to follow him around.  He is unaware of the world outside his marsh and frankly, doesn’t care.  Generally soft spoken and very hard to anger, he could talk your ear off about the various plants and flora of the marshes for hours.  One of his clients is Lyseras, though he rarely sees the Shadow Weaver.

Like many of his subtype, he prefers to eat meat over vegetables.  Lately however, some of the local swamp Robbers seem to have mistaken his appearance for Helgin and have started to leave offerings of food and other trinkets outside his doorstep.  At first he was confused, then annoyed but after a few weeks of this he realized they weren’t going to go away so he merely accepted it and started to eat the food.  This caused such a huge uproar in the swamp Robber community that “Helgin” had accepted their offerings that two of his herb fields were trampled.  Kaitzur’s roar of rage was heard all across the marsh and the surrounding villages were scared witless for months afterwards.  After that, one or two Robbers would quietly offer to help “Helgin” every now and then with his fields as an apology, which Kaitzur accepted.  If they’re going to continue to pester him, he might as well make them work.
