Helena

Helena is Porter's adoptive mother and a botanist on board the Hermes station. She has lived on Hermes for most of her life, but her family was originally from an actual planet. She doesn't feel a particular loyalty to Hermes, but enjoys the benefits she's been able to cement for herself in the company. She applied for a child from the station hospital at thirty and received Porter from the nursery when he was eight. Her whole life is about her family, and she would protect them tooth and nail. As a botanist, she helps manufacture a wide variety of specialized non-food based crops in large greenhouses. She met Hades through this business, helping him smuggle large quantities of Opium poppy extract.
