Rigel was exploring the upper parts of his home cave when he saw the ship land. He was mesmerized by the ship, and snuck aboard before they took off- and they only noticed afterwards. He was allowed to stay, and now works as a sort of caretaker for most of the characters on the ship- making sure they're safe and have all they need.
