Hailing from the Dock Ward of Waterdeep, Severyn spent most of his life working for a thieves guild called The Maw due to his family's membership. He grew tired of people controlling him and deciding who his enemies were, so he claimed The Maw as his first personal enemy and fled Waterdeep to start life anew. In the city of Neverwinter he met Weyr, a tiefling who helped Severyn get on his feet with a new identity in a troupe of traveling performers as an errant bard.
