Profile

Fianna Joy very much resembles her namesake. She is a being of radiating cheerful energy. She is an optimistic and helpful little woman with enough zest to put the most efficient workers to shame, not that she would ever shame them. She resided in the small forest-shrouded mountainside village of Adiron, one of the many settlements scattering the Vulzi planet Arcadia. The town was a bustle of markets and trade-crafts, a small community of only a few hundred locals that would often do business with neighboring towns or travelers. Everyone knew each other and everyone worked together to help each other. Fia was no different. Her remarkable and rare super speed abilities caused her to be able to rush around and quickly help people more than most could manage throughout the day, and folks were always thankful towards her for it. While the market town was where you could easily find most of the inhabitants of Adiron during the day, at night it was empty, for a Vulzi does not sleep where they work. Their homes were small underground hovels a distance away, often up in the mountains or hidden among trees. These small homes consisted of only a couple of rooms, and as Vulzi often had large families, they were very much packed into their homes, sharing a close living space and sleeping comfortably in a group. However instead of being cramped, the tight quarters were simply a comfort spot for them. They were warm during Arcadia's cold winters and they always felt safe being so near to their loved ones.

Fia however, lived alone.

She had been prodded by others about it, told she should settle down and start a family to share her space with, but she would simply smile and say she was fine. Her hobbies were too erratic, she spent her evenings at home, crocheting small creatures out of yarn to adorn just about any place she could find. Some days she would wake up with so much energy she would rush off to disappear for several days. She had an exploratory streak, loving to do a lot of spelunking and discover ways inside of old ruins and see if she could bring back anything interesting or valuable anyone may make use of back in Adiron. She would often camp in caves, ruins or sometimes trees for a few days to even a week. Sleeping alone was something she wasn't entirely unaccustomed to, even as a Vulzi. She was used to being alone. Or so she would tell herself.

In truth her home felt large and empty. Being home too often left her feeling lonely. At least if she was traveling around Arcadia she had the distractions of thrill and excitement, but at home she was simply reminded of her family. 10 years earlier she had gone on an excursion for a little over a week's time. When she returned to Adiron to excitedly show the things she found, she discovered a terrible illness had struck the entire village. Apparently a large animal had died up river and poisoned their entire water source. The excursion to remove the creature was just about to return home, but the trip had taken two days up the mountain. Her family and many others had all fallen severely ill, and passed away shortly after she had returned. Fia in her grief and guilt, immediately disappeared again for several months. She blamed herself for the accident, knowing that if she had been there she would have been able to clean out the water source much faster and everyone could have survived.

When she finally returned to Adiron after her grieving, she was welcomed back with open arms, offered places to stay, and given condolences for her losses. She was glad they hadn't hated her for running away, but refused their offers, simply returning to her empty family home, determined to continue doing her best as she always had to keep a smile on her face and help those around her.

Her heart still ached all the years after her family's passing but time made it easier. She however continued to live alone, uninterested in any suitors as she always had been, keeping an invisible wall between herself and everyone, knowing they suffered the same losses as she did, but she tried not to think about it, and she usually didn't think about it. She was still cheerful and optimistic Fia, and she had to be, and she would continue to have to be as she obtained an item from a new ruin she found, not knowing what it would hold for her when she got it home that night.
