Adrian (Earth 4 Info)

Adrian's Dimension has some extended history.
It is a decaying world, where it's population have to live through a very rigid lifestyle full of rules for them to survive. Or so, they were taught this way.

A lot of life had to face extinction, including vegetation and humans. The reason why this happened is because humans screwed up the planet so badly (nuclear weapons and a lot of pollution). This raised the temperature to extreme levels, so water started to disappear, becoming rarer and rarer. The ocean disappeared, and eventually, so did many other animals, sea life, birds... until the last human died.

Because of this disaster, the surviving animals (desert animals) evolved, mutated. And they're the last ones standing. 

This happened centuries ago from Adrian's current time.

And so, because the planet is dry and life is slowly fading away, the rest of the animals (who have powers because. lore.) live in a very strict society where everyone has specific rules to obey or otherwise, chaos will strike and it would be the end of them all. So the population obeyed. Nobody had any freedom to live their lives as they wished - If you were a healer, you had to heal people, If you had super strength, you helped building homes. Everyone had code names instead of actual names, for better organization skills, and nobody dared to contradict this government because of fear of fully fading away.

UNTIL...

Adrian's grandma aka Number 41718, found a particular amulet as a young adult somewhere in the desert and she accidentally found out what it did - it allowed her to teleport between dimensions! So, without saying anything, she went exploring and found out that many other creatures had names, their own little life, and could do what they wished!

She got so surprised at this concept, that she went back and started talking about it in secret to others. This spread so fast that part of the population was divided: half wanted to live their own lives the way they wanted, the other half who was more conservative, were fearful of change and wanted it all to stay the same.

This resulted in the start of a civil war.

 Number 41718, now self called Rosa, was the leader of the revolution, and was caught. Or so, they thought they did capture her, as she used the amulet she found to escape and help others.

The animals eventually got forced to stop by their government and had a pause of about 30 years. Many rebels faced execution and a lot of families got destroyed, but Rosa managed to escape and outlive the authority in charge. 

She managed to live a peaceful life, teaching her son how to use herbal medicine (although, in vain) so he wouldn't waste his lifespan with his healing powers. Unfortunately, his son grew up to be a conservative, as well as choosing another one to be his partner. They'd spend most of their time working at a hospital, so they'd have to leave their only kid, for the grandmother to take care of.

Rosa taught the child everything she knew - how to use herbal medicine, the wonders of the outside worlds, and told him stories about the nature and life outside their dimension. 

One day, she gave him her pendant and told him how to use it - think of a place you want to go and a portal will open - although she did not demonstrate how to do it.

By the time 914812 (Aka Adrian) was 12, he found out that his grandmother had passed away inside their kitchen, presumably poisoned. This reached the ears of the remaining revolution members and this caused such an outrage that it sparked war again. 

Now that Rosa had died, Adrian's parents, who were working extremely hard on the hospital and losing lifespan, had an idea: Their son had never healed before. They'd teach him on the go, and they could rest and not lose any more lifespan that they had. 

Adrian tried to escape many times, but this ended up badly for him. So, he was forced to heal many dying soldiers, civilians, any type of injured citizen, and in result, grew sicker and weaker as the years passed. 

By 14, he had enough. He found his late grandmother's amulet and remembered how to use it. He grabbed his favorite scarf and ran away from his degrading dimension, never wanting to speak, see or want to have anything related to his family, denying they were part of him at all.
