Eddie Cooper

SUMMARY: 
    Eddie is a very calm individual, he holds the law in highregard and tries to follow it to the letter, and expects others to do the same. He believes order holds society together, and that if everyone followed laws, everything would be better, although, this doesn't mean he ignores his morals. He tends to take enforcing the rules and the law over his own health, believing that his health individually is assured as long as laws are upheld, besides, a little sleep deprivation is fine, he's just doing a little extra overtime to help out. In almost every story, this man overworks himself until a certain someone comes along. 

BACKSTORY GUIDELINES:
Because he has SO many AUs, I'm going to summarize his basic backstory guideline here, however, its' prone to change depending on the AU.
- Eddie is born to a married couple as part of an attempt to keep them together
- The dad's life rapidly spirals downhill and he doesn't have the patience to raise a child, meanwhile The mom believes her son is "broken" due to his lack of speech & expressions, and struggle to eat
- Father often resorted to violence, and would call Eddie ungrateful for not eating the food he was given, Mom would not stand up for him.
- Eddie turned to books and would keep to himself, he liked his hair long and would take good care of it, rarely went outside
- Eddie's lack of expressions were often taken as sass by his father, who would yell at him for it, Eddie would often go unresponsive in response to the noise
- Father yelled at his mother about his longer hair, saying it was "unbecoming of a man" and Eddie refused to have it cut. Father dragged him to his room by it. Eddie kept it long, but started keeping it in a bun.
> From here on he refused to let anyone else touch his hair
- When Eddie went to school he took great pride in his reading and writing, and would practice endlessly, using it as an escape and surprised by the patience and understanding that teachers offered him
> He would sometimes lash out at other kids when they touched his hair or made too much noise, and often expected physical retribution, and was surprised when teachers simply talked to him instead. He learned he much preferred diplomacy to violence
- One teacher grew concerned over Eddie's habits and lack of eating
> She reached out to the parents, who immediately assumed Eddie had gone for help
> The mother was terribly upset, saying she couldn't believe Eddie had "gone for help" instead of simply talking to her, while the father was furious Eddie had caused such an uproar, and locked him in his room after beating him with a belt. The mother was clearly remorseful her outbreak had caused this, but did not stand up for Eddie.
- From this point, Eddie's mother was actually nicer to him to try and make up for it, but he rarely accepted her help. Eddie's father resorted to violence more often, seeing as how it had 'worked'
- Eddie began rejecting the kindness of teachers as well,
- For whatever reason, Dad is arrested, and Eddie is in awe. This is where he decides he wants to be a police officer, fully in awe that the laws could take down such a powerful oppressive figure in his life
- Elliot was born. Elliot looked up to Eddie, and Eddie became protective in a distant way towards him. Mom had changed by this point, and was now overprotective of her sons. However, Eddie would keep his distance from her at all costs, and she understood.
- Eddie gets a job at 16 and immediately begins saving money, he also takes advantage of social programs designed to help and is able to move out soonish after
- Spends most of his time working or budgeting. He keeps his small place very clean and is very responsible, but often overworks himself. He is not yet happy, and does not know how to look for it.
- Begins trying out to become a police officer at 18, spending any free time he can get to talk to people to get his shot.
- His hard work pays off and his determination helps. He feels more fulfilled in this line of work, and likes to think he's helping people. Still overworks.

HE'S OFTEN MARRIED: 
He cares very deeply about his husband Stephan, he regards him as a wonderful individual, who's strong and sweet nature should be admired. Eddie loves Stephan with all his heart, he wants him to be happy and healthy, and hates to see him upset. Stephan is one of few people who can get him to smile or otherwise emote. 

They started as a crackship couple (person who's existence is illegal x law man) and are now the sweetest pair I know, and I love them dearly.  

FUN FACTS:
+ Very short, only about 5'1 (in most universes)
+ Has anosmia (can't smell)
+ Running joke that he doesn't drink, but alcohol finds him. Is the type of person to pick up a glass of cider but it's actually wiskey
+ Usually has a pet companion named Birbington
+ Keeps his hair up, and Will Not cut it
+ Speaks in Monotone, and rarely emotes
+ When he gets to know Stephan he suffers from "allergies", as his face gets red, his heart beats faster, and his head feels light. Often must be told its love.
+ Is the type of person to ask the teacher about checking the homework
+ Feels the need to be productive, has trouble doing nothing

IMPORTANT DESIGN ELEMENTS:
+ He's got freckles that dot his face and run down his arms and legs
+ His face usually shows a rather blank expression
+ Hair is usually in a bun, and has a piece that never seems to fit in right (sticks out in the front, though, that's mostly my stylistic choice)
