Belias

Adapted from what was originally a MawMaw (original species by Mill & Mika) myo. Now just a standalone character/species I wanted to develop more for my own satisfaction.

His front paws/thumbs are opposable and capable of fairly fine movement (about as much as raccoon's). He is as sure-footed as a mountain goat and nimble as a leopard. Drawing his fangs/tusks is optional (he can keep them in or out of his mouth). He also has 4 tails, which is a mutation in his species indicative of his particular extinct "royal" bloodline.

In his bestial form he stands at the size of a grizzly bear, but when he reaches 30 or so years of age (which is the end of the growth period; his species lives ~200 years) he will be larger than a polar bear. He lives in Siberia in the 60s, visiting distant towns when he needs supplies. He often pulls a sled containing all his belongings in his dragon form and lives in caves.

He is capable of transforming into a human using his dragon powers for a limited period of time (a day max), which he uses to run errands and otherwise fit in with human society. Once his transformation starts running out of time, his human form will take on more and more dragon traits until he turns back fully. No matter how hard he tries, he just can't suppress the pointed ears and fangs, but thankfully these don't stand out too much. He uses the tufts of his tail fur on the belt as a medium to channel his transformation into, which helps maintain spell stability.

His second set of horns signify he has reached sexual maturity (aka puberty), though this means little as most of his race has been hunted down, and the few that remain live in secretive and isolated populations. This is why he maintains a cynical and spiteful attitude towards humans and dragons alike, because he believes both have contributed to his species' extinction. He is the last of an ancient lineage that once proliferated the mountains near Ust'-Nera, Russia. Some still remain in the town with traces of Boreal dragon blood, however.
