Jarek Dulik

Jarek is a very reserved person, rarely expressing his emotions. Many find him to be unapproachable and unpleasant, believing him to be constantly annoyed. In reality he simply has a naturally grumpy face and he prefers to be straight to the point. Despite all this, he's best known around the university as the guy who always brings in home cooking.

Those who get familiar with Jarek find their first impression to be entirely wrong. Jarek is a kind and attentive person. He's very good at picking up on when someone is distressed and will gently offer help and support. He's very careful in how he talks to others, always concious of what he says.

Jarek loves his work, perhaps a little too much. He spends hours on end working on art or criticism for his students. He barely gives himself time to rest, and when he does he spends it babysitting the neighbor kid. He's constantly exhausted, but refuses to take a day off. The lack of socializing this lifestyle has caused makes him quite awkward at times. Even the smallest of social interactions can leave him flustered and overwhelmed.

Jarek was born in a quiet mountain village, to elderly parents. There weren't many children around, but the entire village provided him with plenty of company. It was a simple life, but it did little to prepare him for city life. He left home at an early age to pursue an education in art. It was a difficult time for him. He missed his family dearly and found the new environment incredibly overwhelming.

During this time he made friends with an overly enthusiastic med student by the name of Aiden. It was under Aiden's pressure that he began traveling during his school breaks. He remembers those days fondly, despite how they ended. On his final trip abroad, the pair found themselves somewhere they didn't belong. Jarek is relunctant to talk about this trip, but what he will share is he put his arm somewhere he shouldn't, earning him the curse that's claimed it. He was fortunate that Aiden had studied curse treatment, or else he wouldn't still be alive. Unfortunately, he's been unable to have it fully removed.

Jarek has settled down since then, preferring to spend his time at home. He recieves treatment for his curse from Aiden, while living his life as peacefully as he can. However, it's not as peaceful as he would prefer. The neighbor girl has taken a liking to him and insists on spending all her free time at his place. She's a chaotic bundle of energy, but he's grown fond of her despite the headache.
