Old Spirit of small waterbodys like lakes and Swamps, canon is a fantasy setting where he dewells in a lake and preys on innocent swimmers and wanders the sorrounding forest at night.
Legends of him say, whenever a woman drowns in one of his waterbodys he visits the person and offers them a live without responsibilites in his following if she leaves her human body behind for him to devour. He will then transfer their souls into the body of an axolotl and giving them some of his powers in exchange for the human flesh.
