He is a part of a species where once in a while, a new "death guardian" gets born. Where normal "hellfire guardians" would have normal eyes and normal "tails", death guardians would be born with cross shaped pupils in their eyes and a cross on their tailtip. Hellfire guardians are a hybrid of a dragon, demon, snake and partly a canine. They decided to live absent from the world in a place beneath the ground called "Hellfire depths", a place said to be close to hell with green and black fire ruling the place. But aside from that, there is also a weird beauty inside: glowing giant mushrooms, glowing weird ore's and other fauna and flora, yet to be discovered by the overworld. Death guardians are chosen ones from the species to handle the job of having control over the life itself. When a dragon dies above ground, it's spirit will enter the Hellfire depths, where death guardians decide, whether they will have to pass or if they are being spared. Sometimes, it's even said that Death guardians should resurface once in a while to take the lifes of the dragon's who need death as their punishment, or if they are close of dying but refuse to accept their destiny.

Verfrain is the next death guardian in line with Zytra being his mentor. He has always been a very sadistic hellfire guardian with having good feelings about killing other creatures. However, he still has mercy for other creatures, such as insects or simple other feral creatures, who do not belong to the dragon species. He is not too fond of dragons, even thou he forgets that he is partly dragon as well. Rarely he feels sorry for those he needs to kill, cause even if death guardians are born without a proper soul, Verfrain shows more feelings and empathy than your average death guardian, leading to hesitation whenever he needs to assasin some prey.

✦ Appearance

Black and green fur which is thick enough for the coldest winter covers his entire body, alongside with bright green striped that glow in the dark. He has venom in his longer front teeth and a snake like tongue alongside with very sharp claws. The cross on his tailtip is most likely the same material that claws are made of, even thou there are some bone parts in it.
