(they can bond over both loving cute things ;; Kim views killing things that are 'real' as a kind of mercy, like they were used up and tossed aside and deserve a nice rest. Mal could maybe justify killing rivals that weren't actively hurting anyone in the same way. Mal and Kim dig them a nice grave and bury them with a bunch of soft stuffed animals, they're doing a Sisterly Good Deed!)
