  • Otherwise known as the 'Skjölutum Esclier', this species of giants are some of the most knowledgeable and most advanced shield-crafters ever known. From their ancient history, to modern history and even the technological future, Shields have been of great importance to them, seen as both weapons, armour and as a highly important status symbols.
  • Physical features of them frequently include long untended hair (Regardless of gender), a distinctly muscular body structure, and being very tall (At least 15 feet, at most 20 feet) and very strong.
  • In more futuristic settings, it's mostly energy shield systems they're known for, and for a good reason, their designs are some of the most advanced and strongest in the known galaxy.
  • The traditional shields that Shieldsmiths carry are large enough that they can be used as dinner tables for large parties, and can easily withstand heavy weapons and/or heavy amounts of damage. It is common that when forming a wall, there is pratically no way to get past them without some kind of assistance. They are usually known as 'Fortress Shields' as they are considered too big to be called 'Tower Shields'
  • It is commonly believed that Shieldsmiths evolved similarly to humans, however their environments and focuses on defensive survival morphologically changed them to become what they are now.
  • Shieldsmiths have plenty of folktales and mythology, but none more prominent then 'The Undying Loyal', an almost three millennia-old story that shows what a single Skjölutum Esclier is apparently capable of, standing their ground and forcing their shield straight at an unavoidable cataclysm for the smallest fraction of a second needed for their gods to banish it forever. While the sole soldier lost his life in the act of bravery, his arrival to the land of the dead was met with such colossal praise that it kept the land of gods awake for five days. Straight.
  • There are multiple different belief structures around the Shieldsmith race, with two taking the strongest lead being Traditionalists (Strongly believe to keeping to the Shieldsmith's technologically lack-luster history) and Mordernists (Believing that they their morals of crafting shields extends to any kind of shield, be it physical or energy).
