* one of the sleepers who was sent into the multiverse 20,000 years prior to tetra spectrum

* goes by vari

vari's role in tetra spectrum is complicated and difficult to explain, as it practically shapes the entire plot of the story. 90% of what's happened in tetra spectrum ties back to vari in some way. just stick with me, okay?

PROLOGUE:
* previously went by the codename "constant variable"
* sent into the multiverse when the sleepers perished due to their actions
* wandered as an astral body looking for a new home
* watched other dimensions, worlds and universes, curious at how different their worlds were from hers
* discovered the tetra spectrum dimensions 20,000 years later

HERO:
* first dimension she discovered
* went by variable now, or "vari" for short
* was able to assume a physical form due to the dimension's dream-based origins
* observed origin!coral, taking an interest in her and feeling bad she had no idea what she was doing here or how to go home
* seen by coral several times in this first dream, and was able to help coral realize what was going on
* when coral woke up, vari went back with her to originverse, as she had been bound to her through her dream

ORIGIN:
* unseen to most of coral's friends at the beginning, due to being an astral body
* proved herself to be real by firing a weapon in the training ground, scaring the ever living out of everyone who saw it
* a while later, sora had been trapped in battle against a particularly bad foe, and it was life-or-death
* vari ( who'd snuck into this particular battle ) , who could've taken any moment to leave this dimension and find a new one, had found reasons to stay. she'd seen how coral was treated by her bullies, and how close their friend group was, and decided this was it. this was home.
* she took a hit from the enemy sora was facing point-blank, unifying herself with these dimensions and creating a physical form herself. that was what everyone saw when the smoke cleared.
* she recovered, of course, and watched everything happen around her. she grew close with coral and her friends, and explained her past as a sleeper to them. a grudge, however, formed against callie, after seeing how toxic she (and others) were being towards coral.
* at the same time, she discovered she'd retained her dimension hopping abilities--the ability to astrally travel from one dimension to another, and travelled back to heroverse and explained to them her identity as well.

* one soul, multiple bodies: when she's in one body, the others are unconscious, and they can remain unoccupied for a month before they run the risk of going critical. she has to go back to each dimension at least once a month to make sure nothing bad happens to her.

HOPE:
* hadn't explained to everyone here her past yet
* occasionally there were small bleeds (mainly mentions of rocky, who didn't exist here) that ran the risk of her illusion breaking, especially when she had a vision of a conversation in origin that caused her to pass out
* as a precautionary measure, she got origin!serena to text her a recording of a conversation between coral, vari, callie and marie. when she tried to go back to hopeverse with the recording, however, she got stuck between all three dimensions as a result of trying to take something that existed in one universe to another where it didn't
* origin and hero knew about the month-long grace period, so they could save her if over a month passed, but in hope, they didn't know that she was basically dying.
* she was able to communicate to neon what was happening during her missions and eventually stella was able to contact her in the multiverse and bring her home
* afterward, after finding vari's phone, everyone listened to the recording without her knowing and, when she woke up, she was forced to explain herself, and thankfully everyone seemed to accept it

LUCID:
* but, eventually, vari sensed something terrible was going to happen to origin and hero
* she travelled to origin and found coral, asking her if she could come to hopeverse so she'd be safe
* origin!coral agreed, and vari attempted to take her to hope, but ended up trapping her, herself, and four kids from the new city in a strange, astral dimension that would come to be known as "lucidverse"
* after finding each other, vari converted the dimension to a "free-roaming dimension," allowing physical bodies access as well. a little afterwards, stella opened a portal and everyone suddenly appeared in lucid
* one fight between hope!nico and origin!callie later, vari was able to get everyone to go home, but she was weak and collapsed before she could take herself home, but not before seeing origin and hero had seemingly vanished, and vari wasn't sure why... and she immediately feared the worst.
* coral, in an act of sacrifice, picked up vari and carried her to the portal, sending her back to hopeverse while leaving herself and reef inside the astral dimension
* vari woke up in the hospital--nico and the others had taken her there after waking back up in hope, and realized a few things at once.
* for one, the other two dimensions had disappeared like she'd seen in lucidverse. for another... she cared a lot more about coral than she originally thought she did.

PERSONALITY:
* true to her name, vari doesn't change at all between the dimensions
* doesn't outwardly show emotion too often -- when she does, they're vehement and can't be held back
* calm, reserved and thoughtful, but friendly towards others
* wants the best for everyone in all the dimensions, especially origin!coral
* competes using the same layout in every dimension, and has made quite a name for herself
* if anything happens that warrants a fight, vari's the first one to defend
* "She will bend you in half if you mess with her friends. Especially Origin!Callie. She wants to bend her in half the most."
* strongest friendships are with stella and coral (any universe)
* rooms with nico and stella in the apartment complex
