BACKSTORY

Riley doesn’t like to talk about his childhood much. He will tell you that when he was 15, he moved to the city after he met a human teen. He lived there for a while, but then he left, and he won’t tell you about that either. He made his way through the world, working a variety of small jobs and staying in a lot of different places. When the story begins, he’s working at a thrift store and staying in a hotel.

PERSONALITY

Riley is best described with the term "cinnamon roll". He's a total sweetheart, always trying to help people out. He has a fairly positive outlook on life, and stays optimistic most of the time. When it comes to cheering people up, Riley is kind of awkward-- he's never really sure what to say in those situations. When difficult situations arise, he tries to help, but he doesn't like conflict, and the idea of fighting makes him want to turn and run. He's fascinated by the human world and loves exploring it. Because he didn't grow up in regular society, he tends to do a lot of things that might be considered strange without realizing it.

INFORMATION ON SHAPESHIFTERS

The shapeshifters in my universe all follow a certain set of rules. They all have a "human form" which they stay in most of the time. While in this form, they appear completely normal except for their eyes. Shapeshifter eyes can be almost any colour, except for black, grey, or white. They also have a black, spiky-looking ring around their irises. A shapeshifter can appear as any living animal or person, but they cannot change the way their eyes look. Shapeshifters also have a "monster form", which is their true appearance. When in this form, the whites of their eyes disappear, and their pupils become slit, like a cat's. These monster forms are fairly humanoid, and are combinations of different types of monsters or animals. These forms vary greatly, but direct relatives often share certain aspects.
