About

a lone sentinel of a creature. there doesn't seem to be much to say. silent and stoic, his days of speaking freely are long gone, as he is no longer physically able to talk to due the loss of his tongue (which was ripped out by his brother, Jielith). instead, he communicates telepathically, with one's mind. despite being a quiet and hulking figure, he is extremely caring, even to the point of own self jeopardy; putting others before his own needs.

Abilities

major flames/fire breath. innate ability from birth that required gradual mastering through prolonged usage. regular colored reddish yellow toned flames, hot and smoldering. useful for fending off attackers or basic survival against the elements.

minor telekinesis. gifted ability from birth. focusing energy onto objects of the environment allows them to be shifted, but there are limits (hence “minor”). they cannot move giant structures beyond their own physical limitations; an example of this would be a pile of 1 ton boulders or any other extremely unlikely feat. even a strong dragon has its limits!

major telepathy. gifted ability from birth. has the ability to greater insight and looking into ones thoughts. a useful way to communicate when words cannot or should not be used. it is possible for him to be shut out from ones thoughts. minds of easier reading are those who are very subdued and or stuck in comas or catatonic states. as a healer, this could be very useful.

minor spell casting. capable of casting small spells; elemental magic of earth and air as well as some soothing healing magic.

Physical Features & Descriptions

teeth & claws. long and curved teeth and talon-like claws make for a dangerous combination against any foe. their teeth curve inwardly to snag and hold flesh to ensure no easy escape.

body & musculature. usually well muscled and well fed, not skinny. at least 2200 kg (the weight of a modern truck). has heavy scars from years of serving in a fighting force. deep clawed chest scars are self inflicted as well as several bite mark scars along forearms. scars and their placement is entirely optional.

horns. well curved, sometimes unevenly, sharp horns (think of a ram’s) with protruding spikes among the top side of each. their size and curl does well to protect the dragon from immediate trauma to the sides of their head. they started as small nubs when they were a dragonlet. the older the dragon gets, the more curved the horn will grow. if one is broken, it will take time to regrow and may grow back with more wicked or lopsided curvature.

feathers. tufts of blue colored feathers sprout and primarily grow from elbows, popliteal area, and tail tip during mating seasons. their head always dons a crest of feathers that flattens and rises according to mood. anger, arousal = raised; fear and anguish = flattened.

back spines. small rigid protrusions that start from forehead to near of of tail tip. these knobby offshoots are hard and always erected regardless of mood. can be drawn close together/overlapping or with space between. they may be obscured by the feather crest.

Events Leading to Death

he is shot down by hunters who sought to harvest his feathers, horns, and skin because they are valued as prized possessions, trophies, and are of particularly high value due to their colorations. he is barely able to communicate to his mate by thought, who arrives too late to save him, but not before laying waste to the humans who kill him. eventually succumbing to his wounds, he dies at midnight. his mate stays with him and mourns him as long as she can, until his breathing stills and his whispers fade from their mind. they would then gently pluck out some of his longest and undamaged feathers, and tuck them into their own for safe keeping. to make sure no one else can take any more pieces of him, his mate then destroys his remains.
