Bio

Acacia is the only female member of Renkuda’s council and is an extremely powerful druid that’s reaching her senior years. However, she’s still kicking and she’s absolutely sure to let anyone and everyone know that she is.

Renkuda, who grew up in a society where women were treated as lessers, often undermines her opinion and ignores advice she gives him. Acacia is a very stubborn individual, however, and is able to sling Ren’s sexist behavior back at him in underhanded ways. It helps that she’s the one in the room with the most experience, and with her previous friendship with Kimeaka that no one knows about, she knows and understands how Ren’s powers work and the best way to use them.

She often gets frustrated with the former prince because of his unhelpful attitude and tendency to act recklessly and without approval from the other council members, but she is dedicated to teaching him because of a promise she once made to the late goddess regarding her successor. Acacia had promised that she would mentor and look after whoever Kimeaka chose, and she intends on keeping that promise no matter how insufferable Renkuda can be.

Though she’s completely loyal to the goddess, Acacia understands the frustration of the newly-formed council and the complaints they have against Ren. She tries her best to be the peacekeeper and to settle the tension between them all before things get too heated, and there are several who hold a rather deep-rooted grudge against her for it.

One of these individuals— and arguably the one with the strongest feelings— is Rowan, a young viscet who hails from farther south of the nation’s capital near the border of the Hakaoh kingdom.

The one thing Acacia inherited from the goddess after her death was her white-flame phoenix familiar, a very intelligent magical creature with the power to create purifying flames. The light emanating from the bird repels shadows, darkness, and all forms of evil, burning those that it touches. Its presence is one of the main reasons why nothing has been able to infiltrate the kingdom’s borders while its members struggle to reform from what was lost.

Acacia is keen to keep the bird a secret, as such a powerful creature would almost immediately pose a threat to the safety of the fragile kingdom by attracting unwelcome attention were the word ever to leave the forest. With everything being so tender and volatile to change, she decides that it’s best if no one knows.

She also fears what Ren might do with the knowledge of the bird’s existence; she doesn’t completely understand him or the way he thinks, and it troubles her deeply that the one rogue variable is the one sitting at the helm of the ship, commanding the fate of the kingdom. He is the one that has the potential to create, but within him also lies the possibility of destruction and the end of the hundreds of thousands of lives in his hands as they know it.

Despite her worries, Acacia has faith in Kimeaka’s decision and knew that the goddess would not take the decision of choosing a successor lightly. Time and time again the old viscet wishes that there would have been some kind of warning or guidance from her friend, but she makes do with what she has and offers everything she can to help along the process and make it easier for everyone. Her dedication to her work is very visible; after all, Sakozko is her home too.
