Roxy owns The Fire Works, a small but popular bar that's located in highly fought over unclaimed territory in the gang control quarters of Pure Heart City. Roxy spends her time tending to her bar and staffa - as well as keeping a careful eye on the crime community. Her bar is prime territory and many different gangs have made bids, threats, and even attempted to burn her establishment down to get it. Roxy has to maintain her tough reputation to protect her staff and her business.

Roxy was born the youngest child of three. Her childhood was a fairly uneventful and happy one, but when her older brother started to run in bad circles, Roxy fell into the same gangs. She left school early and started to work in a large bar as a blues singer, doing some petty crime on the side with her brother. She was fairly popular among the patrons of the bar due to her attractive appearance and this earned her nightly harassment as the patrons got drunker and drunker during the nights. Roxy did her best to keep calm and ignore the harassment but one night it got too much for her and she blew a fuse. She attacked a regular patron who routinely harassed her, breaking his arm and knocking out several of his teeth before she was pulled away by security. Naturally, this got Roxy immediately fired.

With no other way to earn money to pay the rent of her small apartment, Roxy turned to her brother for help. He offered her a simple deal - a partnership in his small crime business he was building. It was hardly anything different to what she had done for him when she still had a normal job, she was just doing more of it now. By day she and her brother ran the crowds, picking pockets with the occasional mugging and casing buildings that they would return to late at night. The money was good, really good. Her brother generously gave her a 50/50 split of the profits after he sold all their stolen goods to various fences he knew. She was able to not only pay off her bills on time (for the first time in her tenancy) but could also afford luxuries she previously couldn’t. It was because of this that, when her brother approached her about bigger, more risky jobs, she accepted without much hesitation. The two moved from pickpocketing and buglaring small businesses and homes, to robbing larger businesses, homes of the rich and famous, and even robbing several banks and jewelers. They even dabbled their hands in holding hostages for ransom, but it was not a path they did not take as the effort required and risk was not - in their minds - worth the rewards.

Things were looking up for Roxy. She was able to move from her small, cramped apartment to a larger bachelor pad. She never had to worry about bills or money. It was great. But good things never last for those as unfortunate as Roxy. She and her brother were in the middle of a diamond heist when they were interrupted by the police. A silent alarm had been tripped. Her brother told her to flee in one direction while he distracted the police. She took only a few bags as she fled, the rest stashed for later retrieval. But it was a trap and she was a fool. Her brother had lied and in fact sent the police after her as she followed his directions and ran straight into an ambush. She had been set up by the very one she trusted.

Roxy got no court case, no chance to turn in her brother. She was simply thrown into a jail cell for the next seven years. She stewed in bitterness as she waited for her sentence to be complete. When she was finally released, she tried to rebuild her life. No more crime, she swore, she was on the straight and narrow now. But no respectable job would hire Roxy. With a past record of violent assault and only recently being released from prison after a major diamond theft, no one who valued their reputation or business would touch Roxy with a five foot pole. It left her no choice but to crawl back to the life of crime before she ended up on the streets for good - or worse, begging her sister for help. She eventually found a job as a simple barmaid. The owner, a small-time mobster with ambitions of grandeur, used the bar as a poorly disguised front for his gang and simply needed some staff to give it the appearance of an actual bar. Money was money, so Roxy regrettably accepted the job.

Bar work, strangely, suited Roxy rather well. Much better than singing or cat burglary. She got on well with most of the pleasant patrons who were somehow completely unaware of the bar’s true nature and enjoyed mixing the various drinks. But every job had its downsides. The mobster had no wish to hire bouncers in his bar and thus Roxy was forced to evict rowdy customers herself - a job which she took a secret thrill in. Many of these rowdy customers were actually members of a gang - the gang that technically owned the bar. More times than she cared to count, she put members of the gang in hospital when they refused to calm down or stop destroying property. The final straw for her ‘boss’ however was when she accidentally killed a rather ‘high ranking’ member during a particularly brawly night. He confronted her about the incident, most likely intending on firing her, but Roxy wasn’t intimidated by small, scrawny men playing in their father’s clothes, and she held her ground. In return, Roxy showed him what a real threat looked like and walked away from the meeting with a signed copy of ownership transfer of The Fire Works to one Roxanne.
