Created 11/11/16. A kind, gentle, cake batter bean. He's a little shy and cautious, but friendly at the same time. Prefers to avoid trouble and stay in one place...as long as it's not a sucky place. Taffy was an experiment that included trying to give elemental control to hazards directly. His element was supposed to be water. Instead of working, though, "water" turned more into "sludge" as did he. He was then bottled up and put on a shelf somewhere until the scientists decided on what to do with him. Taffy quite enjoyed his time in his bottle - it was warm, murky, and quiet. He didn't mind not being able to see the outside world at all. In fact, he was oblivious to Lab #22's shutdown. Years later, when an event was held at the place to rescue lost experiments, his bottle was found, but not on purpose. A distressed Spider had been looking around for Cri to try and convince her to close up shop, when he'd smacked face-first into a huge, heavy bookshelf that blocked the entrance to one of the rooms. It crashed to the floor about as loudly as possible. On top of it happened to be where Taffy was safely sleeping in his liquid state. The shelf fell forwards, but he tumbled back...right onto Spider's head. The tiny bottle shattered, thrusting Taffy into a solid state on top of a "screaming" Spider. After the ordeal was over, Cri explained to him a bit of what was going on. Then, as soon as they could, the two of them took him to see Tech as if she would know what to do. They left him there to get to know the group and get oriented with the world. He was pretty frazzled and a bit scared at this point, but Miiru helped calm him down. In fact, the two of them got along quite well. He was invited into their little band and, with nowhere else to go, he stayed. He's aware he can't get his bottle back, but he'd like to find a nice new one and - now more aware of the world outside - maybe a cozy den too. He prefers to stay at home base, but can occasionally be persuaded to go on an adventure. His third eye's pretty much busted. It allows him to shift between liquid and solid, but only works half the time since he has little to no idea how to control it. Sometimes, he'll shift forms without even knowing why it happened. His screen has little flame icons that flicker as if they were firelight. There's always some slime dripping from his shoulders, suggesting his true nature
