Halcyon is the last of his kind. The last surving monk of the Order of Ardor. A man with a string conviction and a sad smile.

Halcyon is an enthusiastic man. He has a kind heart, but he's become jaded over the years, but stubbornly pushes forward and sticks to his beliefs. One only needs to fear his conviction, not his actions as he is a pacifist. But his words become far harsher than expected from a man of peace and faith. He's a very expressive person, but he tries to mask ill emotions with strong words and a smile. Halcyon looks like the type of man that could break you with his confident smile but he also looks like he took could break like a twig at a moment's notice. Despite his rugged, worn appearance, but there is something genuine in each of his smiles too, a soft kindness that is looking out for others.

His home and place of devotion, The Order of Ardor, was attacked and destroyed while Halcyon was away on a mission trip. But even after the order fell, to this day, he travels with no place and no one to call home and tries to carry on the mission of his order. In this day and age on the planet of Dhvest, religion has fallen from grace over the last decade or so, and people no longer rely on faith but solely on the new technologies of the era, becoming dependent on them and no longer relying on the strength of heart and faith. He believes the teachings of his order are needed now more than ever. To spread faith, goodwill, and justice across the land. To accomplish this, he captures criminals and lectures them to teach them the right ways. He is not violent, nor does he take them to jail. He uses his own hands and words to pass on the teachings he so strongly believes in despite growing jaded over the years. He has a lot of faith in people as a whole but distrusts them. He tries not to have doubts in his faith, but each day is a trial for him. He pushed on for his own sake.

Halcyon was the name he gave himself after his order fell. His name means: "denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful." He knows it is impossible to achieve that again, that maybe it wasn't all perfect to begin with, but he can try. It gives him something to move towards and protect.

He believes strongly in the strength of the past. Values that had lasted the test of time. He does not hate progress, however, he does belief that there is a thing called too much progress to quickly, and he fears that this is what makes people forget about the values of the past and how to remain uncorrupted by outside influences. The Order of Ador was often focused on the idea of self reflection, internal strength, and patience.

Trivia:

• He makes many new friends while travelling. He enjoys them very much, but none of them seem to stick around long as he moves from town to town. He has friends, people he can stay with, but nothing closer than that. Perhaps he keeps them at a distance.
• Halcyon was raised at the monastery from a young age on. So most everyone he knows has passed away.
• Halcyon is most often seen wearing brown robes, while he still has other robes in his possession, they are for ceremony. He has very little material possessions, but can not bare to part with his ceremonial robes. He has not changed his appearance in many years. In the past, you might have seen him in his orange daily robes or his ceremonial robes at the temple, but no longer.
• Halcyon loves the sun and the heat. He normally travels during the day, so he is also accessorized with a pair of small sunglasses.
• WEAPON: The harness on his robes straps his large weapon to his back. His weapon, titled The Will of Ardor, is an oversized double steel ball bola slingshot. The primary function is that it slings the steel ball bola from the sling and it wraps around his enemies, rending them immobile and can be used as a battering ram.
