Delilah | Girlfriend

The story of our love: a gift from Muru to Delilah

To my love,

It has been one year. We have had countless moments of laughter and happiness, and a couple of times of tears and sadness. Through it all, you have been there for me. The love you have given me has pushed me to become a better person. I made this book in order to show you those memories between us. Bad or good, I want to spend every minute by your side.

Yours always,

Muru

Chapter One - A chance meeting

It was a warm, spring day when I first saw you.

You were in the local flower shop, arranging a vase.

As beautiful as the flowers were they were, they paled in comparison to you.

I had to take a picture of you.

I didn't realize the flash was on.

You looked at me and blushed.

It was then, I decided to ask you on a date.

You said yes.

Chapter Two- First date awkwardness

I wanted to impress you.

I took you to the best sushi restaurant in town.

As our dinner continued on, we scooted closer to each other.

We talked about everything: our hopes, dreams, and ambition in life.

I didn't notice the stray piece of sticky rice on my cheek. You did.

I was so nervous, I wiped the wrong side of my face. You laughed.

You placed your hand gently on my cheek, brushing off the rice. As you did so, I leaned in and kissed you.

We both broke away and blushed.

You asked me to take a picture of us. As I pressed the button on my camera, you kissed me on the cheek.

Chapter Three- I'm jealous and dumb

A little before our first anniversary, we had our first fight.
I had seen you with someone on a date in a diner.

I became very scared, afraid of heartbreak and losing you.
I handled it poorly.

I asked you who you had dinner with, accusing you of seeing someone else.
We fought for what seemed like hours, and I screamed and cried until my voice gave out.

I don't blame you for leaving and needing space, but I still cried without you there by my side. The sky seemed to be crying with me.

It rained hard that night. Through my tears, I managed to take a picture of the night you left me.

Chapter Four- Love you always

It was the day of our anniversary.

I didn't hear from you.

I was worried about you, so I went to check on you at your flower shop. You looked sad.

I needed to apologize to you.

I told you that trust you with all my heart, and that I would work on my managing my jealousy.

You chuckled with tears glistening in your eyes, calling me a huge dummy.

You told me that I misunderstood what you were doing that night. You pulled out the anniversary gift, a pair of small plushies.

As it turned out, that night you were talking to a friend over dinner about making a present for me for our anniversary. I nodded, admitting jealousy had gotten out of hand.

I decided to give you my gift as well. It was a book of our time together. It was at that moment that I told you that I love you no matter what, and I would become a better person for you.

You blushed and told me that you love me as well. I hugged you tightly.

I asked a passerby to take a picture of us with our gifts. I couldn't stop thinking about how lucky I am to have you.
