Overtired and overworked leader of a resistance group trying to overthrow Blaze. As most cats are too scared to oppose Blaze, he's having a hard time gathering others to his cause; there's good reasons for cats to be afraid, too, since Blaze readily puts all traitors to death.

Gale knows this very well - too well - has known it again and again. His eyes are sad but pawsteps grimly determined. He has lost so much - but when a lavender cat crests the hill after yet another loss, bringing with him a fiery desire to bring Blaze down, Gale takes it as a sign from the stars and the martyr they all prayed to, and allows himself to cling to one final, private hope.

• Basically Aspen's adoptive dad; considered him like a son and taught him everything he could.
• Eventually gay for Ashes, obviously.
