Ruutsu Shidoki

Shidoki-sensei is a very subdued man, he’s mostly quiet and monotone, not liking to speak much, but when he does he keeps it plain and flat, getting his point across as clearly and quickly as he can, though with how quiet and calm he presents, he’s anything but- he won’t hesitate to raise his voice at any given moment to keep his students in line, almost nothing more important to him than making sure they’re learning and being responsible, the last thing he’d want to see would be any of his students becoming like him, a grumpy old man even though he’s still baby age... he wants his Students to be the best that they can be and fulfil all their potential, and he’ll take any measures he sees fit to protect and support them, even if they seem harsh.

Quirk

Creates Apple trees with the seeds that grow on his tongue, which grow rapidly once they touch soil. Though it can be hard for the seeds to actually grow on his tongue if he doesn’t eat any apples, only being able to produce 3 at most running on none, though he’s not too fond of the taste, he’s responsible and makes sure to eat plenty of apples every day.

Luckily the seeds aren’t too picky about soil, and will start to sprout almost the instant they meet dirt, since Shidoki’s tongue gives them most of the nutrients they need, though this does mean the trees will die very quickly if they aren’t constantly cared for. Naturally the trees will grow very large, blooming apples pretty much immediately, but like most plants, they do need premium care to grow to their full capacity and actually live for longer than a couple hours.

Backstory

Shidoki was born into a very normal family where he was the only child, neither of his parents having a particularly remarkable Quirk, and neither did he, but it never really mattered to him, his Quirk wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t so unremarkable that he ever felt inferior, it was just that, average. But regardless, he’s never been the type to let what other people say affect him, he never really understood other people’s words fully, and would just ignore other kids for the most part- only wanting to focus on what he enjoys, just sitting on his own and reading, doodling, just wanting to be on his own and enjoy what he enjoys, it’s not like he knew how to talk to people anyway, and people let him. And as he continued to grow up, he was sure he didn’t need anyone, continuing to do what he wanted on his own terms. But one time, something other people were doing actually caught his attention, kids gathered in the middle of the room, gawking over what seemed to be a magazine, which actually interested him, he slowly made his way into the group and saw what they were reading, a magazine about heroes, normally Shidoki could never see what people found so cool about the things they liked, but this he liked, he loved it, all the shiny pictures and stories of heroes, how they were doing their best to make the world a better place, he couldn’t think of anything cooler! He absolutely adored it! And from then on he collected all the hero books and magazines he could, and after far too many sleepless nights spent reading and researching about all his favourite heroes, he was dead set on becoming one too.

But as it’d always been, Shidoki still never really had friends, he’d always been a reserved person, and this still hadn’t changed going it’ll middle school, if anything- it was as strong as ever, fully dedicated to his own goals, convinced he needed no one else, focused on his own goals and studies, focused on getting into his dream school UA and nothing else. But really- he was lonely, though he didn’t realise it, all he was doing was defending himself, truly he was sick of ignoring people, but even if he did realise, he’d never admit it, spending all of his middle school days distant and cold, even from his own family, nothing mattered but his goals, but even as he achieved them, getting into the UA hero course, as he’d worked so hard to do, his attitude didn’t change, surely to all his classmates he was a pretentious, stuck up prick, which honestly- he was, until after his first sports festival.

He was approached by a student from support course, a boy somewhat taller than him, with small wings that didn’t seem like they could fly. Introducing himself as Tsushima Natsuo, raving about Shidoki’s Quirk and how he used it, going on about how much potential he saw in it and how he’d love to create gadgets around it, so much so that he almost ran out of breath- leaving Shidoki just... dumbfounded, he’d never been complimented so much before, he did know how to take it- so he just did what he always did. Ignore him.

But Natsuo persisted, breaking down the walls Shidoki hadn’t even realised he’d put up, he’d really never had anyone care so much about him, not even his own parents. How fascinated and... happy Natsuo seemed to be, started to make him less confused and more- flattered, and really really flustered, with all his compliments and smiles... He found himself approaching him on his own, hanging out with him and the other support kids, where he learned Natsuo’s dream of becoming a hero, but he couldn’t because of his chronic pain, and instead found love in inventions for heroes, where him and Natsuo began to bond over their shared love for certain heroes, and for the first time he actually had a friend, something besides studying that actually made him happy, made him smile... And with Natsuo’s support and inventions, he’d never been more excited to be a hero, his favourite thing soon becoming being with Natsuo, discussing heroes they loved, inventions that sounded cool, and Natsuo making him all flustered with his flirtatious comments, for once in very long time- he was enjoying himself. And as he progressed into his second year, his classmates knew him as a completely different person, still quiet but not the cold, rude person people had gotten to know in his first year, though Natsuo was still the only person to see him smile, he was now seen as someone who was friendly, just reserved, especially with the soft pink hoodie he now always wore under his blazer, one far too big for him- nothing like the way too put together and neat way he’d always worn his uniform, 17 and he’d finally loosened up, and it really was all thanks to Natsuo, making him smile, laugh, open up, and most importantly- giving him such a comfortable hoodie, pink really is his colour ;0, Shidoki had really never been happier, and as second year started to draw to a close, he began to realise his feelings for Natsuo may not have been... just friendship, but his awkward ass had no idea how to put it into words, but lucky for him, Natsuo really was an angel, making his feelings known to Shidoki in their third year, finally clicking things into place for him, and this shy awkward loser was somehow blessed with not just an amazing friend, but now an amazing partner.

Once graduation was nearing, and Shidoki was looking to finalise his hero costume, he left it to Natsuo, wanting to make everything they’d always discussed actually real, and so he did, designing a beautiful and elegant costume that was also incredibly practical, of course saying it was only as beautiful as it was because he was designing it for someone as beautiful as Shidoki smh, and of course Shidoki’s heart was stolen as it always was, so going into graduation and Shidoki’s hero debut, Natsuo and him continued to work together, Natsuo working as the hero Ringoshi’s main support, there with him every step of the way, though Ringoshi was never a very popular hero, he was a hardworking one, wanting to take any case other heroes refused to take, despite Natsuo’s best efforts, Shidoki couldn’t help but be his overindulgent self, so Natsuo did his best from the sidelines, the both of them working hard together for 5 years of hero work, starting their own agency and even getting engaged, things really couldn’t be better for them.

But with Shidoki’s isnitance on taking underground and dangerous cases, a certain villain group caught wind of him, the hero with the Apple trees ruining all their plans and getting all their best members caught, and planned an attack on his agency.

And while Shidoki was taking care of another case, he came back to his office in shambles, holes and cracks all over the walls and desks as all his employees layed sprawled across the floor, their bones broken and all their work torn to shreds, every single one of them. Every. Single. One. The hero Ringoshi disappeared off the face of the earth, no one seeing or hearing of him until 2 years later when he was invited to be a teacher at UA.
