Profile
Taiber is a well-respected scientist and descendent of hevalos who fell in love with a mortal. Due to this, he quickly became someone of interest in the eyes of researchers. He grew well, and while he didn't have parents, he was taken in by said researchers and considered them his family from a young age. At 19 years old, he began to work at the facility that raised him known as Vertex, a place that focused on creating and researching hevalos-at least that's what he thought. Taiber quickly began to rise through the ranks at his new job, landing himself as second only to the top researcher in his department. After three years of working there, he was finally able to create something of his own: the faux hevalos, using more than 60% of hevalos DNA. With this, he created a new system to filter in only the necessary components. The day came where his creation would be "born," and everything appeared to be perfect. However, a week after the successful experiment he overheard his supervisors talking about his new creation. Expecting to hear praise and possibly a new promotion, he wasn't prepared to learn what the facility's actual goal was. The experimenters planned on using his creation as nothing more than a personal farm for creating weapons and armor. When he confronted a supervisor, someone he personally saw as a father, about what he heard he was simply told "worry about how it affects your paycheck." Disappointed and disgusted, Taiber decided he would rather spend time with his creation he would soon name "Akivo" after the mountain where the facility was located.
Akivo had been around a few months and suspected nothing would be happening to him shortly, despite how much Taiber fought against it. Taiber knew that while Akivo's feathers would work as an element for weaponry, they would never grow back unlike a real hevalos. One morning, Taiber entered to find Akivo, the being he viewed as his own son, beaten and completely plucked of his golden plumage. Still, what surprised him the most were the gold markings left on Aki's body. Wanting to understand them but not wanting Akivo to be left in this provision any longer, he contacted bounty hunters and soldiers who were looking for hevalos to bring to the Queen. Knowing this may be the last time he'd ever see Akivo before the soldiers arrived, Taiber left him at the bottom of the cliff with nothing more than a small jar of water and a note with his name written upon it.
Once the soldiers arrived and sent everything into chaos, each of the higher-ups were captured in hopes of obtaining information about the supposed hevalos. Just as they were about to leave, the department's leader pointed out that Taiber wasn't being taken even though he was the one who created this "thing." Consequently, all the other superiors were killed along with any scientists. Taiber didn't even know why at the time, but shortly after arriving at the Queen's castle, he learned that she wanted an armor set of her own. As for why his "family" was killed, the reason was to prevent information of her interests from leaking out. She only allowed him to live because she knew with proper equipment and a special something she found (Beo), he would be able to create even more hevalos. Spending months denying to work for her majesty and worrying about whether or not Akivo would be found, that dreadful day arrived. He was presented with the knocked out body of the one being he truly considered family. At this point, Taiber was finally forced to give in and work for the Queen in order to protect Akivo.
On the other hand, Akivo was skinny and rather odd looking, completely differing from how he was expected to grow. Despite this, Taiber was able to watch Aki despite the pain it brought him to see his creation be used as nothing more than target practice for her majesty's soldiers in training. It went on like this for two years, until a gray, bulky dragon with bright blue horns refused to attack Akivo. It was then that the former scientist for Vertex began to devise a plan for Akivo's escape, even if it meant he himself would be left behind.
