Profile
The Blue Rose
Tamora Rosevale is the protagonist and narrator of The Princess Uprising, alongside her bondmate, Ciel. A young woman who grew up in the rolling farmlands outside of Paradise, Elysea, Tam spent most of her childhood with her head in the clouds, dreaming of a greater life. However, after the freak accident that crippled her cousin, she was forced to face reality and give up on her dreams of becoming a knight. Now she's content with her inevitable lifelong career as a farmer, working alongside her aunt and uncle.
Tam's peaceful life is abruptly shattered on the day of her cousin's wedding—the fateful day she's conned into buying a strange egg from a mysterious merchant and an oddly cheerful prince decides she is the answer to his destiny.
About
Appearance
Tamora is a young woman of average height and build. She is lean, not particularly muscular, but is obviously fit. She has curves, but her figure is average all around. Her hair is dark brown and slight curly, though it is more wavy than anything else. If treated, it will curl easily. She keeps it long, reaching down to the small of her back, with bushy blunt bangs that almost reach her eyes. She usually wears it down, with half of it up in a bun. Her skin is brown, with patches of pale vitiligo on the left side of her body, ranging from around her eye and cheeks, down her arm and side, to her leg and foot. Her eyes are a bright, brilliant blue.
Tam dresses practically, but isn't opposed to more formal clothing. She prefers to wear pants and generally avoids skirts unless she absolutely has to. She can usually be found in loose, flowly tunics, sometimes were bare shoulders, corsets or bustier vests, trousers, and boots.

destiny
Tamora was once a dreamer. As a child, she was full of ideals, wanting nothing more than to become a heroic knight like the Knights of Avalon, Empress Aurora's personal retinue of knights who she sent all across Aisling to keep the peace. But life would crush her dreams and bring her down to reality. Now a practical, level headed person, Tam is a hard worker and driven. Though her goals are much smaller now, the determination she had as a child never left. She is stubborn to a fault.
Despite her realism, Tam is still a kind and compassionate person. She is willing to lend a hand to most people, including strangers. Though she mostly keeps to herself, she isn't unfriendly. A bit more on the reserved side, she isn't the most social person around. She's not the greatest with people, but she tries. Unknown to her, she has a natural charm about her. Her honesty and straightforward nature make her easier to trust. She is reliable and always keeps her word. She does not see the world in black and white, but is firm in her beliefs.
Tam has an incredibly low opinion of herself. The aftermath of the relentless bullying she experienced as a child, she doesn't think she is special or even a good person. This self-doubt makes her question almost every single she does. It holds her back from opportunities and goals, to the point of self-sabotage. As much as she may secretly hope and dream, she doesn't think she is capable of being useful, much less saving anyone.
Nevertheless, some part of her still wants to try.
Background
Born in the winter of 1176, Tamora's beginning was not without tragedy. Her father, Gethin Rosevale was the current leader of the Alliance, the rebel faction opposing the Empresses' rule. Her mother, Salome, was a frail woman and did not survive the birth of her daughter. Because of his dangerous position and the loss of his wife, Gethin could not justify to himself that keeping his daughter close was the best for her. So he gave her up, asking his brother to raise her in his stead. And so Tam grew up on her uncle's farm, where her father was born and raised.
Though she was loved and cared for by her aunt and uncle, Tam's childhood still wasn't easy. She was close to her older cousin, Roland, but that didn't always stop her from being bullied by the other children in town. She was tormented for being different—for being an orphan, for having strange marks on her skin. Roland did his best to look out for her, but he couldn't always be there. The bullying was at its worse when she was six years old, when the other children ganged up on her and threw her down the well outside of town. Tam still doesn't remember how she didn't drown.
After that, Tam was afraid to go anywhere alone. It wasn't until Sir Kay, a Knight of Avalon that was stationed in her village, took notice of her. One day, he gave her a wooden sword and told her to have courage. Tam became his page after that, an apprentice. Sir Kay taught her swordsmanship and horseback riding and everything she needed to know to become a knight. When she was old enough, he made her his squire. It took her away from the farm, which didn't please her aunt and uncle, but they couldn't take away her happiness.
Life was swell during those years. But then, when Tam was twelve, it took a turn for the worse. One day, out of nowhere, their village was attacked by a tribe of orcs. Or so it seemed—when the battle was over, an illusion faded, revealing that the 'orcs' had just been a band of bandits. But in the chaos, Roland was seriously injured. He had been visiting the girl he was seeing and took an axe to the knee. He recovered, but was crippled, unable to walk.
Tam's entire future was shattered. With her cousin no longer able to work the farm, it fell to her to inherit. She had to leave her apprenticeship under Sir Kay to work on the farm full time. As much as it broke her heart, she was worried more about Roland at the time. She gave up on her dream to ease her family's burden. And Sir Kay... he understood. But it didn't make it any easier.
Now, seven years later, Tam has continued to work on the farm with her uncle and learn how to run the business with her aunt. She is content for the most part, having long since forgotten about her dream of being a knight. Unfortunately, her destiny seems to have other ideas in mind.
