Appearance:
Kaya is a thin young girl with faintly dark skin, golden eyes, and pale white hair that is usually braided into two braids on either shoulder. She has two scars that stretch up her cheek from under the right side of her jaw.
Her usual attire consists of slim, dark brown pants, a loose, off the shoulder red shirt with lace along the sleeves and a pocket sewn into the front, and white shoes- when she is required to wear them. Otherwise she has a habit of going barefoot.
At school she wears the uniform like everyone else, and usually has the sleeves of the jacket and the shirt rolled up. She has also switched out the black tights for ones that have (color) stripes.
{Her Hero Attire has yet to be decided upon- I will fill in this portion when my Tablet/Computer USB Ports decide WORKING is a nice option QwQ}
{I will also update the above picture as well, since that one looks like trash QwQ}

Quirk:
Halt
Kaya is able to completely halt a person, or a specific object/target's movement through space. She can choose to halt the movement of an entire person/object, or she can consolidate the range of her Quirk only to halt the movement of one small part of something or someone (as an example; the tires instead of the whole vehicle, or the fist of someone instead of the entire person). Her Quirk is activated by looking at the target, and when doing so- her pupils change color to match the yellow of her eyes, and she almost seems not to have any pupils at all.
Her Quirk works largely on canceling out the motion of the thing being targeted. But it only extends to mechanical energy, and once it is canceled the object or person is rendered into a state of no motion or 'at rest'- regardless of the location of the target- and will remain motionless until she deactivates her Quirk.
She can also cancel the gravitational potential energy of objects or persons falling through air- and the act of 'halting' them results in them becoming suspended in air. However even after she Halts their potential energy in the midst of the fall- once they are Halted they accumulate gravitational potential energy once more based on the height they are from the surface of the earth- and that new gravitational potential energy persists when she deactivates her Quirk.
However due to this phenomenon, she is able to Halt the movement of someone falling from a height that would result in injury or death, and Halt their movement when they draw closer to the ground- canceling the speed at which they had fallen and allowing them to fall from a new height that would not result in injury or death.
Drawbacks/Limitations:
She cannot use her Quirk on herself, in order to Halt her own motion.
She has to physically see the target in order for her Quirk to work. Meaning she cannot Halt bullets, as they are much too fast and too small for her to see. In the case of possibly Halting internal things in a person- it suffices to see the person themselves, and not exactly the portion she is focusing on. It also works if she sees a reflection of something, but it can be a bit hit and miss.
She is not capable of cancelling the impact done on an object/person, or cancel the impact someone experiences or the effects thereafter. Meaning, if she were to try and negate the damage done by someone's fist on another object- it would not work. She would have to halt the person before they made contact with what they were trying to hit, in order to keep them from doing damage.
While she can Halt several targets at the same time, doing so is difficult, and grows exponentially harder and near impossible with the factor of number of targets and their combined mass. In general, she can easily Halt the movement of objects/people who have a mass of around, or under 200 pounds (about 90718.5 grams). Anything exceeding that value becomes exponentially harder to Halt- and may even be impossible to Halt at all.
Halting the motion of an entire object is much easier than Halting the motion of something more specific on the object/person itself. It requires a greater deal of concentration and effort to Halt something specific- such as specific parts of an object/mechanism, or a single limb/extremity of an individual person. Her Quirk works best when used to Halt an entire object/person, instead of focusing the effects of her power on a smaller area.
The more she uses her Quirk and for a longer period of time, the harder it becomes to Halt things. If she uses her Quirk too much in a short period of time, eventually she cannot Halt even the smallest of objects. She earns a a pretty serious headache and starts to get dizzy- and may even eventually pass out.
If pushed to extremes, her Quirk runs the risk of activating a 'Rebound Effect'- where instead of just canceling the motion of her target and dissipating that energy entirely (as it normally would), the energy from the target rebounds on to her in the form of small, internal little impacts of force. Usually it's little more than the same damage that would be done by someone smacking you, but over time it increases to be damage of the sort of being punched, and then further. If it gets bad enough, she could suffer internal injuries that can cause complications. This 'Rebound Effect' is the reason she is mostly deaf in her left ear, following having pushed her Quirk too far when she was in elementary school.
The 'Rebound Effect' has only ever occurred twice in her life, and statistically it is a rare occurrence that borders an anomaly. There is no clear reason of why it ever activates, or what specific variables lead to it- regardless it is still a worry to be aware, and wary of.
Threats/Potential Taboos:
If you were to take the capability of her Quirk to an extreme, theoretically she might have the capability to target specific bodily movement- internally. Such as the mechanical movement associated with contraction and expansion of the heart and the lungs. In theory, her Quirk could be concentrated to halt these types of movement- which could easily lead to a fatality.
Halting a specific portion of an object or a person is also risky- since her Quirk renders the target in a standstill motion, if the rest of the target were to continue moving- the portion she has rendered motionless may become detached or torn from the thing it is connected to. In order to counteract this- she usually Halts the motion and deactivates her Quirk straight away- resulting in the motion being cancelled but the target is not held suspended in place. She has to remain focused on what she is doing however, or she may muck it up.

Personality:
Kaya is a very laid back soul and she's not often worked up nor angry for any reason. She's got a cool temper and has a very placid nature, and she is patient to near no end- especially with people. She's more of a 'go with the flow' sort of person, and can at times seem a bit disinterested with the things going on around her. That is not to say she is indifferent to other people struggling or hurt, she's always been quite willing to help others when they need it- but in overall terms of action and motivation- she can be quite lacking. Because she hardly ever jumps into action quickly or even seems to have an abundance of energy and action, to many it seems like she has little to no work ethic what so ever. Sometimes she'll even grumble about having to do something- which is an attributing factor to a number of people seeing her as sort of lazy.
She is a generally friendly person, but she's not usually the first person to initiate a conversation with someone else. She tends to stick to herself and doesn't participate in conversations or group activities when she's not really required to. You'll usually find her reading a book or browsing her phone in silence, or otherwise seeming to doze and take naps in her off hours. When she does interact with other people things are usually quite content, and many people find it easy to relax around her. And because of her quite and peaceful nature, other people who are both shy and timid, or even those who are usually quite confrontational and hard to get along with- all of these personalities seem to get on rather well with her.
Kaya is also a very trusting person, and she tends to give other people the benefit of the doubt and a modicum of faith, even when they may not have deserved it. She's quite comfortable with handling the emotions of other people, and she's not usually hesitant to make it known to the people around her when something isn't right.
She seems to have a strong will and tends to keep a level head even in the most tense of situations, and it doesn't seem like much fazes her. While this is mostly true, she oftentimes second guesses her actions and is a lot more insecure in her abilities and her aptitude for being even a relatively decent Hero. She's not sure she has what it takes to be truly good- and though she strives to make herself the best she can be, her confidence can get hit rather hard, rather quickly. And it usually takes some time for her to regain it afterward- and in the meantime she'll doubt herself and her actions all the more fervently, maybe even enough to distract her from doing her job right.
And although she is mostly deaf in her left ear, this handicap does not seem to effect her. She can usually read people's lips if she is having a hard time hearing them, and it usually very careful to keep the people around her on her right side to avoid possibly missing what they are saying. She functions considerably well and most people do not know about it- and when they do find out, Kaya does not seem bothered, and isn't hesitant to explain it, or how it happened.

Abilities/Skills:
- Hand-to-hand Combat
Kaya is relatively good with her hands and has earned enough skill in combat-training to make her a capable fighter if she needs to be. She tends to prefer to stay out of close-confrontation with other people, as her Quirk is more suited to that. But if in a situation where she needs to fight, she can defend herself enough to keep from being terribly injured, and can even apprehend and disable some opponents.
- Incredible Eye-sight
Kaya has an impressive eyesight. She has perfect, 20-20 vision and she seems to be able to see things more sharply and clearly- and even at slightly larger distances than most people would be able to regularly. Her eyesight helps with the way her Quirk works- but it is not advanced enough to be considered the augmentation of a Quirk or a mutation.

Relationships:
Katsuki Bakugo
Kaya and Bakugo met one another in their last year of elementary school, and were in the same class along with Izuku Midoriya for a short period of time before Kaya moved schools. There was little interaction between Kaya and Bakugo in elementary school, as Kaya had a habit of keeping to herself and she was little interested in the hot-headed and near-bully Bakugo. She payed him little mind, and while she generally disapproved of his harsh and sometimes cruel treatment of the other students, and Izuku in particular- she didn't necessarily dislike him nor have an aversion to him. She let things be and stayed away from placing her nose in his business, and only entered it by comforting a few of the kids he was harsh to and showing them kindness once Bakugou had moved on.
Just once did she and Bakugo bud heads, and it was on one occasion where she intervened when Bakugo was being particularly harsh on Izuku one day. She did little other than use her Quirk to Halt a baseball that Bakugo had thrown toward Izuku- but the simple act of saving the other boy caused Bakugo's temper to get turned on her instead. Kaya was uninterested in fighting with him, and did her best to calm him down and get him to leave Izuku alone for the day by just talking to him. Though the fact that Kaya had stepped in pissed Bakugo off like nothing else, he relented to leave Izuku be because he wasn't about to 'hit a weak girl'. He snapped at her to mind her own business next time and stalked off, leaving Kaya the tiniest bit disgruntled at being called weak, but she soon let it go. Soon after this however, Kaya moved schools and she nearly forgot about Bakugo entirely. And Bakugo seemed to erase all memory of her existence from his mind in the years that followed up until they met again- upon which, it becomes clear that Bakugo does not remember her at all.
Their 'first meeting'- or more rather, their reunion- proved to be a bit of a rocky start. They met one another during the Entrance Exams to UA High School, and due in some parts to Bakugo's rude and condescending behavior, and Kaya's faint stubbornness- they invested in something of a competition to one-up the other, and tensions flared (though mostly just Bakugo's).
Bakugo briefly confronted Kaya for being in his way at the assembly, and immediately told her to go home and not even bother with the exam- making a snap judgment about her and pegging her as too weak to possibly pass and get into UA. It was an outlook and behavior he had toward the other applicants and not just Kaya, but he was more direct in shooting her down- and as calm and levelheaded as Kaya usually is, he irked her.
Following this she made it a point to not be outshone by him if she could help it- and fate would have that they both ended up in the same Testing Center for the Combat portion of the Entrance Exam. There was a a small heated exchange in the midst of it, and Kaya's persistence in doing just as well in the Exam as Bakugo would seemed to foster no small amount of annoyance and anger in the boy. He particularly disliked how stubborn she was about staying on par with him, and thought she was trying to show him up just to spite him.
After the Exam, Kaya attempted to calm him down and tell him it wasn't anything personal- but he blew her off and ignored her. Not wanting to push things further, Kaya left him alone and they went their separate ways again until the start of the new UA term.
Upon realizing that Kaya was admitted into the UA Hero Course just as he was, Bakugo seemed somewhat miffed, but not completely angry about it. Things were quite tense between the both of them for awhile, and there wasn't afforded much opportunity to amend things with them being in two separate classes. On the few occasions they do come into contact with one another during school, and sometimes outside of it, things seem tense still but slowly cooling down between them. They seem capable of coexisting with little issue, and cooperating with one another when is needed. At times things between them even seem content, and peaceful even.... an odd thing to find around Bakugo, to be sure.
Despite the uneasiness that flamed at the Entrance Exam, Kaya holds no real animosity toward Bakugo and he doesn't seem to hold any for her either. If anything those events garnered some amount of respect between the both of them, Kaya knows Bakugo is not someone to be trifled with and he knows well that Kaya is capable in her own right. And even the rivalry between Class 1-A and B, Bakugo seems to get along with Kaya well, and even better than some of his own classmates- and ever the friendly and placid personality of Kaya, she handles him and his attitude and anger incredibly well. They have some uncanny sort of common ground and understanding between the both of them that Bakugo rarely seems to ever have with anyone- the only other person on the same terms with him as Kaya, is Kirishima.
Hitoshi Shinso
Kaya and Shinso became good friends when Kaya transferred into Shinso's elementary school, and then the ended up in the same middle school the following semester- and they have remained the best of friends all the way up through entering UA High School. They have a wonderful relationship with one another and they are as comfortable with each other as a brother and sister would be- as is how they regard each other, as adoptive siblings.
Unlike the bulk of their peers who were always wary of Shinso and what he might to do him with his Quirk, Kaya was never bothered by his abilities or afraid he would turn on her. She was incredibly friendly and kind toward him after their meeting, and she held a great deal of respect and appreciation for him after he attempted to intervene with the Villain causing havoc when they first met. Seeing how quickly Shinso was to step in and try to help her with the Villain, she saw his determination to help other people and the kindness inside of him when he did his best to help and comfort her when the 'Rebound Effect' of her Quirk activated during a fight with a Villain they were both involved in, and she had to be taken to the hospital. Once she returned to school she saw how worried he was about her and what happened, and even sorry he hadn't been able to do more- he was a much nicer and compassionate person than she or anyone else really knew, and knew he had little real friends in their school- so she started to get to know him better, and it took little time at all before their friendship blossomed. She has been very supportive of his wishes to become a Pro Hero, and she's proven herself incredibly loyal and protective of him over the years- especially against other people that were harsh, condescending, or rude with him. And on Shinso's end, he's just as loyal and protective of her- maybe even more so, after the scare she gave him when they first met and she had to be taken to the Hospital. Since that time the 'Rebound Effect' hasn't kicked in again, but he is constantly worried it might- and that it might be worse than the last time.
They are very close and there's hardly a secret between the two of them, ever. They get along famously and their parents get along well too- even if Shinso's parents are a bit unhappy with the amount of time that Kaya's Parents leave her on her own. They love Kaya to bits and they know she would do anything for their son, as he would do for her. They have had her over to their home several times over the years and they treat her as if she were their own... and probably lucky so, considering how little Kaya's own parents are home and not traveling abroad for work.
Shinso and Kaya enjoy spending time together wherever they go, and doing anything at all. They have a particular like for spending time in a cat cafe that Shinso works at, just talking and drinking coffee and enjoying the cats. Kaya will often times spend her whole day at the cafe to do homework and reading and just keeping him company, sometimes she brings him cookies she bakes at home so he can eat them on his break.
Kaya was the first person that Shinso admitted to that he preferred boys in the way of romantic feelings and all such things. He was hesitant to do so, as to be expected- but Kaya was supportive of him still, and she has never once made him feel uncomfortable nor unwanted, and he truly loves her for it. There is very little Kaya wouldn't do for him, and little he wouldn't do for her in return.
Izuku Midoriya
Kaya and Izuku met briefly in elementary school, though they were never close while there. Izuku grew to like and even admire Kaya for her willingness to stand up to Bakugou for him, and more so he liked the kindness and care she showed him afterward- many of the people in their class and their school were nice, but she seemed more so, somehow- he just really liked her without ever really knowing her.
They'd seen little of, and talked little to one another before the incident with Bakugo, and immediately afterward Kaya spent a good deal of time walking with Izuku and cleaning him up from what Bakugo had done. She asked him why he Bakugo get away with the things he did, and Izuku told her that despite how the blonde boy acted- they were still friends, and he didn't mind how Bakugo acted most of the time. Kaya seemed a little unconvinced with the 'friends' part, but she let it be and kept Izuku company for the rest of the day until school ended and they both went home. The next few days after, Izuku talked with Kaya a little more trying to be friendly, and things were content between the both of them until Kaya told him that she would be moving school's soon, and she wouldn't see him anymore. Izuku seemed sad at the idea, but wished her luck in her new school regardless. Since then he's thought about Kaya and what she did for him a few times as they grew up, but like Bakugo he seemed to cast her from his mind.
Upon briefly meeting at the Assembly for the UA Entrance Exam, Izuku gets the feeling that he knows who Kaya is, though it takes him a little to figure it out. He doesn't get the chance to play meet and greet with her though, and in fact doesn't get to see her until after they've already both been admitted into UA. Kaya and Izuku have a friendly relationship and they get along well when they talk to one another, though they don't tend to see one another very often at all. Kaya expresses surprise when she finds out that Izuku has a Quirk, since last she saw him he told her he was Quirkless- but she thinks little of it, and chocks it up to him being something of a late bloomer.
Class 1-B
Kaya was admitted into UA's Hero Course and placed in Class 1-B alongside 20 other students, making her the 21st student in the odd numbered class. For some reason unknown to her, or any of the other students- UA waved their standard of admitting 40 students to the Hero Course a year, and exceeded their cap of 20 students when they placed her in Class 1-B. Rumors surrounding this odd occurrence have it that either;
- There was a misstep with the registration process, and rather than rescind their admission of an extra student, they instead allowed and extra in.
or,
- More than 40 students showed enough promise in the Entrance Exam that they did not want to cut someone with real promise, so they added an extra spot in the lineup instead. This person with promise may or may not have Kaya, there is no real way of knowing.
Either way, despite the odd number of accepted students- no one seems to mind. Class 1-B as a whole seems to genuinely like Kaya, and they all get along rather well. She even gets along with Monoma, who has been known to rub many, many people the wrong way. She's kind and helpful to those in her class, and will gladly lend a hand should they ask it of her. Though she may not be the most sociable of people, and may not spend much time with her classmates just chatting or what not- she's content in their midst and has proven she is very capable of working and learning alongside them. There's little way for Kaya's Quirk to be used in conjunction with any of her classmates (with perhaps the exception of Monoma and Nirengeki Shoda) in an effective way other than providing support, but despite this many in the class see her as a valuable ally to have on their side- and rightfully so, since her Quirk provides a great deal of defensive capability.
Nirengeki Shoda
Kaya and Shoda get along famously, he has a very quiet demeanor and it melds well with her own placid personality. They have a great level of understanding between one another and they have been working to strengthen one another's Quirks since very shortly after they began in the Hero Course.
They have developed a method of teamwork between the two of them where either he or Kaya will throw an object in the path of an enemy moving quickly, Kaya will then Halt that object so that the enemy may slam into it. Through use of Shoda's own Quirk, that impact of the enemy running into the equivalent of a brick wall- will be inflicted upon the enemy again, and many times the force than the first. It is a method that works well for the both of their Quirks, and requires a fair amount of teamwork and synergy between the two of them- but they seem to have little trouble doing it.
Outside of teamwork in practical physical battles, they have a good relationship in the regular and academic side of class too. They oftentimes work homework together and edit one anothe's papers when they need to, and they have invested in many a conversation and chatter since school began. They eat lunch together too, along with Shinso- and Shoda gets along with Kaya's longtime friend with no issue at all.
Pony Tsunotori
Kaya and Pony get along quite well, and Kaya has done her best to help the transfer student learn Japanese and adjust to the foreign culture as much as is possible. Kaya has a little experience with American culture from her parents, since they are so often traveling out of the country for work. Pony seems very fond of Kaya and they have a very easygoing relationship with one another.

Background
Kaya went to the same elementary school as Bakugo and Izuku, and easy in the same class as the two of them for a little over half a school year- before she moved schools and subsequently became good friends with Hitoshi Shinso.
In middle school, and at the age of 13- there was an incident involving a Villain near her school. It was a low level Villain named Hasshatai, and he was terrorizing the area around where her middle school was located by destroying windows and damaging property, and even going so far as to send small metal projectiles out toward people to hurt them (his Quirk involved the manifestation of metal 'bullets' about the size of baseballs, to which he had mental control over and could send them out at a very fast and forceful pace).
Kaya was reluctant to get involved in what small level of chaos Hasshatai was creating, but decided she ought to when he switched from destroying buildings to hurting people- namely many of her fellow students, including Hitoshi Shinso- and no Pro Hero or police officer had yet to arrive on the scene.
Kaya used her Quirk to Halt the bullets that Hasshatai sent out toward her classmates and other people in the vicinity- which earned her Hasshatai's attention, and placed a target on her back. The Villain turned his sights on Kaya and set off a barrage of projectiles, to which she used her Quirk to Halt the bullets- but with a great amount of difficulty, given the numerous targets, and she was inexperienced with using her Quirk in such a situation. She was quickly being overwhelmed, and her classmate (and not yet friend) Hitoshi Shinso stepped in and tried to use his Quirk to stop Hasshatai to no avail, as the Villain either refused to speak, or simply could not. Without being able to use his Quirk, Shinso had to resort to simply dodging things and doing his best to shield himself and Kaya with whatever was available to serve as a makeshift shield between the two of them.
Through his efforts and Kaya's, they were able to hold the Villain off in enough time to allow a Pro Hero to arrive and handle the situation, and they both came through the experience fairly well off- at least on Shinso's end. In the midst of using her Quirk so much, and so much at once as compared to what her body was used to- the 'Rebound Effect' of Kaya's Quirk kicked in, and the more she used her Quirk, the more internal injury (in the form of kinetic force) she earned. All in all this caused a fair amount of deep bruising and a few hairline cracks on a few bones- the largest injury came from one of these internal kinetic forces being centered on her ear canals. By the end of the conflict her ears were ringing pretty badly, and she could scarcely make out what Shinso was saying to her, let alone anyone else- and the ringing did not stop even after the Villain was dealt with. Shinso quickly noticed that something was wrong, and grew concerned and even more so when the bruises started to form on various places across her body that could not have been inflicted by the Villain's Quirk- and concern turned into fear when he saw the blood starting to drip from her ears, and how dazed and disoriented she was getting so suddenly.
He grabbed on to her and kept her steady as he snapped at the Pro's and the Police to do something, and he stayed with her all the way until she was put into an ambulance and taken to the hospital. Despite hardly knowing her, Shinso spent the next few days constantly wondering what happened and how she was- and the Teachers and school didn't have anything to tell him when he asked, or at least- they decided not to. He didn't understand what had happened and he couldn't convince himself to let it go.
Once Kaya returned to school he immediately reconnected with her, and asked what had happened- she explained the 'Rebound Effect' to him and that this time she'd gotten away with little to worry about... well, outside of the fact that now her left ear had been damaged and she was fairly deaf in it now. Shinso was shocked by the news, and took it much harder than Kaya did- who seemed relatively non bothered by the injury nor the debility she would have for the rest of her life.
Following this, both Kaya and Shinso spent a great deal of time together and eventually became the best of friends. They spent most of their time together and near all of it when in school, they became close enough that Kaya was invited over on many occasions to Shinso's home and to meet his parents (Emire Shinso (mother) and Yumeto Shinso (father)), and they quickly grew very fond of their son's best friend. Kaya spent a great deal of time with Shinso and his family as she was growing up, since her own parents were usually traveling abroad and scarcely ever at home.
Both of Kaya's Parents have jobs that frequently send them out of town and even out of the country. For most of her life she has grown accustomed to not seeing one of her parents or the other for days or even weeks at a time, and then they switch places and the cycle continues. While she was younger they made an attempt to make sure at least one of them was around and keeping an eye on her, but as she grew older they began to leave her at home alone more and more often and shouldered more independence and freedom onto her. Kaya learned to fend for herself, including cooking and laundry and other menial things- and even larger ones too. She's not afraid of solitude and sometimes she prefers it.
Now this is not to say that Kaya's parents do not care for her. They love her very dearly and they do their best to be as good as parents as she needs, and trusts that she will ask them if she ever needs something. Both her parents were very worried about her and what her Quirk might do to her if the 'Rebound Effect' ever gets worse- and they have concerns about her decision to train to be a Pro Hero, but they are mostly supportive of the goal and know that Kaya will do as she wishes, and whatever is needed to fulfill her goals. Overall they think they raised a wonderful, smart, kind and determined girl.... which may or may not help them feel a little less guilty about the lack of time they spend together as a whole family.
Once time came for graduating middle school, Kaya encouraged Shinso to apply to UA along with her and pursue his dream of becoming a Pro Hero. It took a little bit of prodding, but he relented to it and did so- and even though he was placed in General Studies and she was admitted into the Hero Course, she still encourages him to train as hard as he can to try and get transferred, and she helps him to try and toughen up whenever possible.

Trivia:
- She is mostly deaf in her left ear, and has a hard time determining the whereabouts and movements of things or people on that side of her.
- She has a habit of going places barefoot, and often gets in trouble for not wearing shoes.
- She likes to bake, and often does so in her free-time when she's at home by herself.
- The scars on her cheek come from the first occurrence of the 'Rebound Effect' when she was only six years old. She suffered many internal injuries at the time, and was in the hospital for a few months- the scars are the only outward, and lasting thing from that day, however.
