Born in an alternate 1920, Sylvester is a standard tv pet in Europe. Being held as a pet is a good, stable life. He is well attended to and allowed to free roam outside until his humans want to watch tv. Things take a turn for the worst when his life is subjected to curfews and rogue planes flying overhead, he realizes his life isn't simple anymore.

Either his family flees or dies in a bombing. Somehow, he ends up on the streets and works with Bro to survive.

Also, in this universe, xylophone dogs are a thing probably. Birds are probably like cellphones/letters/voice recorders.
