Occupation: Fire mage - Taven works for the Kirin Tor. Learning fire magic ain't easy or for the faint of heart, but Taven has become quite a master at it. While he is a powerful and knowledgeable mage, however, he chooses to not be in battle. Instead, he spends his days teaching the youngest magi (children) basic arcane magic and basic life skills. He wouldn't trade his job for the world.
Hobbies: Reading (mostly books about magic, Sin'dorei culture, or other cultures--especially ones centered around magic), baking (usually small tea cakes or biscuits), tea crafting/brewing/experimenting, studying languages (knows Common, can converse in Thalassian, and knows a few phrases and words in Pandaren and Darnassian to hold a very basic conversation).
Positive habits/traits: Studious, gentle, patient, focused, driven, has a servant's heart, humble, romantic, curious, honest, supportive, accommodating.
Negative habits/traits: Tends to avoid serious or dark subjects until the last minute, can be discouraging and point out negative facts about someone to their face, doesn't always say what he's feeling or thinking (causing himself unnecessary suffering), can drop a project while it's only halfway done and get distracted by a new idea or concept, keeps intimate feelings bottled up, can run himself ragged for others (finds it hard to say "no" to anyone in need or asking for a favor). [At some point in his young adult or older teen years, Taven meets a woman named Saralyn, who takes his breath away. While she wasn't drop dead gorgeous by conventional standards, she had a charm and unique beauty about her that Taven appreciated. Despite his awkwardness, he managed to introduce himself and the pair began to talk and connect. Over time they became closer and started courting. Taven began to get comfortable with the idea of marriage and children in the future. But tragedy strikes as the pair are separated (possibly because of Dalaran actually literally moving??? and Saralyn wasn't in the city at the time?? maybe she was visiting family) and neither had the resources nor the tools to find each other again quickly. After some months, a letter had found its way to Taven. It was from her. Excited at the proof that she now knew where he was, Taven ripped open the letter... only to find its contents were not what he was expecting. Instead of news of her making way to Dalaran, it seems she had settled down. She had gotten pregnant and it wasn't Taven's child. Heartbroken, Taven decided to move forward and focus on his hobbies and career. He is a teacher to young magi just learning the very basics of arcane magic. While difficult and stressful, it is a rewarding job that he would never want to leave. More TBA]
