Keito

Birth, Family and Childhood:

Izumimura Keito (泉村京斗) was born on March 26th , 1986 in Abashiri, in the Hokkaido prefecture in Japan. He was born into a normal, middle-class family with humble origins. His parents, Bokkai and Akane, were both highschool teachers. He was brought up according to a set of firm family values such as honesty, empathy, earnestness, tolerance, and most importantly, hard work. Keito has two sisters: Junko (1990-1992) and Kanon (1994). In school, he loved getting involved not only in the musical activities, but also in sports. Throughout all his school life, except the last couple of years, in which he decided to focus more on his musical skills, he was part of the soccer and baseball teams. Because of his outstanding stature, he was often asked to join the basketball team, but he never joined, since he has openly stated that said sport isn't exactly his cup of tea. Keito always showed a deep interest for music along with an exceptional skill for it, way above average for his age. His parents started noticing his unusual skill at age 3. Keito would spend most of his time playing with his favorite of all toys, a toy drum set. At first, they thought the sounds coming from it while the child played with it were built in. Soon enough they realized that wasn't the case, it was Keito playing on his own. At age 4, Keito got his first set of drums for his birthday. It was a custom-made set that was adapted in size so that he could play it.

Nature and Personality:

Keito's most well-known trait is his self-control and serene nature. Because of the way in which he was raised, he is calm, relaxed, very responsible and respectful to others. He also shows a high level of tolerance and empathy towards others. Even if he is humble, and he never shows signs of conceit, he does enjoy being the center of attention. He tends to attract a lot of attention just by being himself, and ever since he was a kid, he was always the popular one. He has the character of a natural leader, and even if he seems to be a little bit too serious at times, he is actually a really fun person to be around. He enjoys jokes, and teasing people, but only if they are close to him. With people who he's not really close with, he tends to be extremely proper and polite, always minding his manners. Asides from showing great interest in music and sports, he was really good at social studies and psychology. He is often told he would've been an exceptional psychologist, mostly because of his serenity and great ability to listen to others, and he has confirmed that if he hadn't become a musician, he definitely would've loved getting into Medicine.

How he became a part of earGASM:

The whole idea of making a band was originally Keito's idea. When the band started as Electric Geisha, in 2003, he was a student at the Tokai University Dai-Yon High School. At the time, Nashi and Sono, earGASM's lead guitarist and vocalist respectively, attended the same institution's junior high. Even though they didn't take classes together, Sono and Keito met in the extracurricular activities, since they both played in the same soccer team, and that's how they became friends. They were both interested in music, and the arrival of the new transfer student from America was just the perfect excuse to finally start a band. Keito, Sono and Nashi started practicing after school hours under the name Electric Geisha. It wasn't until later in the year 2004, after Keito had graduated from high school, that they became an official band, and started using the name earGASM.

Personal Life and Relationships:

Keito is a very private person when it comes to his relationships. Although a few flings and affairs are known, he is the kind of person who prefers serious relationships. He dated his bandmate Nashi for a short time in 2008 but it was nothing serious. The relationship was moderately scandalous since it was well-known that it was a one-sided affair, since Nashi did have feelings for him. During an interview Keito revealed that he deeply regretted getting into a relationship with Nashi. The relationship, however controversial, ended that same year when Keito started a serious relationship with Kazunori Ikeda (池田 和憲). Shortly after, Nashi got involved in a relationship of his own so the two didn't have any problems or disputes. Ever since this relationship started, Keito guards his privacy jealously. He has said that his relationship with the programmer has been the most meaningful one he has ever had, and that he doesn't want, or need the media being all over it. He proposed to Kazunori in 2010. As of June 2021 Keito is known to be single. The specific date in which he and Kazunori separated is unconfirmed but it is known that they are no longer together.
