Nebula Anapoin

BACKSTORY

As an angel, Nebula was known as Nefeloma and was the head War Dancer for one of God’s battalions. Bound to the solitary life of living and working amongst none but the wounded and occasionally, her heartless commander,  Nefeloma was tasked with casting powerful supportive spells to bolster her allies, and destructive magic to destroy her enemies.

As the war dragged on, more dancers were recruited to Nefeloma’s battalion in order to aid in the war effort. Amongst these was the dancer Salicaes, a shy and nervous little angel whom Nefeloma immediately took under her wing. The two bonded almost instantly and though they considered each other best friends, in reality their relationship was closer to that of a mother and child. The two relied on each other’s support to push through the incredibly exhausting work they were assigned, yet Nefeloma still came to resent her role, and even began to question if she was on the right side.

It was when Salicaes expressed their similar curiosity for the enemy that the two conspired to turn on their battalion, and together the two cast their magic with the intent of destroying their allies and allowing the enemy army to overcome the stronghold.

Amidst the chaos they caused, Nefeloma became separated from her friend, and was forced to flee the stronghold before her once-allies could capture her. Being the head dancer, she was instantly blamed for the revolt and so was no longer considered a loyal angel of God. She was pursued by ex-allied forces all the way onto the battlefield, and was eventually attacked, mutilated and left for dead. With both of her arms dismembered and stomach gutted, it was likely that she would have died had it not been for her being discovered by soldiers that had once been her enemy. 

She was taken in, stabilised, and when Nefeloma told her story and expressed her wish to change sides she was taken in with open arms. Despite the damage she had taken, she was intent to still dance for them and help them win the war.

Unfortunately, that day never came, and Nefeloma fell into Hell alongside all of her new allies.

IN HELL

Finding herself in what would come to be known as Gluttony’s domain, Nefeloma was surprised to find her arms restored- albeit by two huge, clawed arms- and the gash in her stomach filled by a gaping maw that seemed to have a life of its own. Terrified initially by these changes, it was in this way that she discovered the only remnants of her magic and- in the early days as a demon- she would often conceal her more unusual characteristics. However, with Prince Rio (Prince of Gluttony)'s support, she eventually learned to be thankful for her strange appearance, and the second-chance it represented.

Bolstered by newfound self-love and confidence, Nefeloma took on the name Nebula to reflect her practical rebirth, and looked to building a life for herself that she was never able to have in heaven.  She quickly found that she adored receiving the praise and adoration of others and so eventually auditioned for a role in SDS21 (A popular idol group). Whilst singing was not her strongest suit, her exceptional dancing skills and natural charisma secured her as Gluttony’s representative for the group.

For a long time Nebula was content with the lavish lifestyle of an idol, completely embracing all of the glitz and glamour and attention it brought. She was always known to pander to her fans, embracing the in-jokes created around her and playing along with all of the romantic pairings made out of her and other members. Through it all though, she admittedly did miss Salicaes, though she never knew what had become of them, or if they were even in Hell.

Fortunately, her fame brought the two together. As soon as Salicaes- now known as Willow- made the connection that the idol Nebula and their old friend Nefeloma were the same person, they immediately got attempted to get into contact but unfortunately these attempts were drowned under the thousands of other fans vying for Nebula’s attention. The two only ever reconnected when Willow attended a fan meet, and ever since the two have been closer than ever, despite living in different areas of Hell.

Eventually, Nebula did grow tired by the life of an idol. Whilst the excitement of being acknowledged publicly never waned, she began to realise that her busy and often exhausting schedule only reflected the life she had lived once in Heaven. Wanting to take some time to live at her own pace, she quit the group, though not without expressing how difficult a decision it was to make.

CURRENT LIFE

These days, Nebula only works when a job strikes her fancy, or if she is particularly bored. She has often modeled for gravure photoshoots, sang as a guest on other musical artist’s songs, and even has her own line of cosmetics. She also had a phase of dueling for titles, landing her quite comfortably as a Countess. Though it would be far more convenient for her to live in Pride or Lust, she enjoys being one of the few celebrities living in Gluttony, and on a more sentimental note enjoys the fresh air and slower pace of the area.

Outside of professional ventures, one of Nebula’s greatest passions are food or, more specifically, the meat of other demons- as her title suggests. She refuses to eat others non-consensually, however, and instead tends to take donations from her fans or anyone, really, in exchange for money or gifts or attention.  Other than that, she often takes the time to visit her precious Willow in Lust, or hosts them in her expansive country home. She has a tendency to collect sugar babies to help her around the house, as her claws make it a little difficult to do many tasks.
