Doors opened in Gonzo’s mind at this realization—the realization that the feelings he created were real, palpable, and most importantly, malleable.
An employee who arrived in the Second Wave. Originally a shy and easily frightened rookie, Gonzo Turnip has quickly become an incredibly competent senior, aided by his ability to assimilate his identity with that of his EGO gear. More research is needed to fully understand this phenomenon.

Afflicted with a lack of identity, there's no "true" personality that can be attributed to Gonzo; he tends to be whoever he needs to be (or who he feels he needs to be) in the moment.
However, he often defaults to a somewhat shy and easily startled kindness. Very thoughtful and prone to spacing out, he approaches new situations with caution and careful consideration.

Begin Work: Insight;
- Gonzo was a shy and easily frightened rookie. (Was.)
- Hoping to be useful (and to preserve his own life), he began forcing himself to sync with Gold Rush, pulling greed out of the depths of his body and discarding it when it was no longer useful.
- These feelings began to find him in the wild, unprompted. So did Binah.
- He confided in her: a fear of becoming this person he had so willingly created, or having been them all along.
- Her guidance: the mind is clay—malleable. Each self that is created can be disposed of. Each self that is disposed of can be worn again.
- Guidance taken to heart, Gonzo began to use his flimsy sense of identity as a tool, mimicking the desires of any EGO he wore.
- Parroting a lack of identity, this became who he is. kind and resilient, with a deep interest in abnormalities.
II.
Book of You;
- He finds his way to the Library alongside Varia, aiding in their efforts in General Works.
- It's strange, seeing people from the City. He doesn't remember if the City was ever home.
- Eventually, he finds that the King of Greed has embedded herself in his soul. Gold Rush can be summoned from his body at will.
- Over the course of his time in the Library, he bonds with the former Sephirot. At this point, they're largely on equal footing...
Design Notes.
- His eyes are always a series of golds, unsettlingly bright, the colors actively swirling with his emotions.
- His preferred EGO gift is Heaven. Its eyes are corrupted by the same gold as his.
- He primarily wears warm colors when in casual clothing. Not a fan of tank tops or shorts.
- 5'6; thin, lanky build.
Trivia.
- Rookie fears still come to find him at times. Old habits die hard.
- He was given Golden Apple Tree's EGO gift, but barely wears it. (It's embarrassing...)
- His full, legal name is Gonzo Turnip Elizabeth Smith.
- He does not like his parents.
