Compass has been on ships her whole life. She was pretty young when a ship she was on sank, and after washing to the shore still immediately stowed away on a ship, it's the only life she really knows. She doesn't remember her original name, and picked one on the spot when caught stowed away on Hawkins' ship. She works on the privateer ship right now, and is training under Hawkins to probably eventually be his second in command. She's not girly at all, and is really just one of the guys/dresses really masculine. She doesn't care much for pirates, but she doesn't hate them as much as several other members of the crew, and if they happen to dock at a port and see pirates, she tends to swap stories with them.
