Saber is very happy-go-lucky and is willing to aid those in need of help. She’ll risk her life for the Autobot cause to save Cybertron and is even more for risking her life when her comrades are in trouble. Saber is chivalrous when it comes to fighting but even when the odds are against her, she’ll give her all to beat her foe(s). Off field, Saber tries her best to help improve her allies’ abilities by helping them train or even relax a little bit.

Saber also has the mindset of "doing whatever is in the best interest for Cybertron". This causes her to be more estranged towards the Autobot cause of saving Cybertron. Her main concern is Cybertron's revival and if lives are endangered to make Cybertron come back to life, she won't hesitate to see her goal accomplished.

History

Saber was born into a warrior class family who specialized in advanced fighting techniques that their predecessors once used. So Saber and, her twin brother, Dagger were raised to fight with any type of weapon that wasn’t gun related. Saber went off to prove her skills in the Kaon Coliseum; which is the city she had grown up in. In the Coliseum, Saber improved her fighting skills more than she had thought and later became a speedy combatant. As a rookie, she wasn’t given any slack for her attempt in fighting but managed to get the idea of how things ran in the Coliseum. She and Dagger had a fun time trying to raise money for their parents’ shop and helping the other gladiators fight too.

Saber looked up to Megatronus, one of the more well-known fighters at the time. She tried to model her fighting abilities after him but because of her small stature wasn’t able to. So she developed one that let her use her height to her advantage. She also managed to befriend a few Cybertronians like Orion Pax. She adored his way of thinking and how the Leaders of Cybertron should approach the end of the Golden Age that they had lived in.

Saber had also met one of Orion Pax’s friends, Ratchet. Saber picked on Ratchet because of his profession and nervousness around her and the other gladiators. Eventually the pair fell in love and the teasing continued. One day, as a present before one of her championship fights, Ratchet had made Saber a sword. This sword later became known as “The Matrix Blade”. Saber was at a loss for what to say and didn’t know how to pay him back. So she made a promise to win her final match in the Coliseum.

For Saber’s final match, she was ironically fighting her idol, Megatronus. Saber was nervous at first but managed to push away her anxiety as the fight started. She used her speed and sword skills to beat Megatronus. She was surprised she had beaten him but was glad for the prize money she received in return. Saber used the money for both her parents’ shop and as a thank you to Ratchet. Saber had also managed to befriend her idol after the fight as well.

As the tensions increased between Megatronus’ and Orion Pax’s beliefs on how the Cybertronian Leaders should handle the crisis of dwindling energon supplies, which would bring an end to the Golden Age on Cybertron, Saber and her brother were more from Orion Pax’s beliefs of peace rather than Megatronus’ belief for war. When the rising factions of Autobots and Decepticons became the trending topic for Cybertron, Saber joined the Autobots and has supported their cause ever since.

During Saber’s time with the Autobots before the Fall of Cybertron, Saber was on several reconnaissance missions and was part of the front line of fighting. Sometime before joining the Wreckers, Saber was in command of the Knight of Primus. As elite as they were, she witnessed the deaths of almost all the Knights and that of her brother's. She and Dagger were fighting Dreadwing and Skyquake -- a couple of usual combatants for them whenever the pair were on the field -- and during their last fight both the brothers managed to disassemble Dagger beyond repair. Dagger sacrificed himself to let Saber escape. She later fell under the command of Ultra Magnus and became one of his two second-in-commands; his other being Akila. Saber and Akila were opposites but managed to help each other and Ultra Magnus on any mission they were sent on.

That saying, Saber rose in the ranks once more and became a Field Commander. She was in charge of Ultra Magnus’ main fighting front but before she could do anything to aid him, Saber was called off on a mission to protect one of the last Autobot energon mines they had. So she traveled to the center of the universe and fought off the Decepticon forces that were encamped there. During the last days of the mission, Saber ran into Megatron and a few of his officers. She used the anti-gravity fields to get rid of as many Decepticons as she could, as well as her own comrades. Saber lost her arm, the one she wields the Matrix Blade with, to Megatron but was able to transport out of the area as fast as she could. She landed on an unknown world eons away from where her comrades were fighting. So Saber waited and waited for her distress signal to be found and later ended up “sleeping” to save her energy.

Centuries had passed and Saber was reawakened when she landed on the planet next to where the Autobots would later make as their base, Earth. Because Saber was “sleeping” for so long, she and her Matrix Blade had suffered an enormous amount of damage. She suffers from memory loss from time to time and isn’t at her full battle strength. Saber is able to remember bits and pieces of her past but doesn’t remember the important parts of her life that meant a great deal to her. However she does have some recollections of her past, like who she might’ve loved at the time or even the fun she had with the Knights of Primus, but they come and go. Her blade also isn’t able to do what it was built to do. It has a limited amount of forms and can only transport her, and maybe someone else if there’s enough energy. Saber also had to find another alt mode so she could continue operating under Optimus Prime.

When Saber became operational on Earth again, she continued to do what she did best; which was fighting the good fight and protecting her allies. She’s able to hold her own but not like she was able to before her “sleep”. Saber realized that her relationship with Ratchet had ended the day she left to the center of the universe and feels bad about it. But she was able to put it behind her and decided to live life at its fullest. She later took on a couple of apprentices, Rune and Smokescreen, and helped them become better fighters.

As the fight on Earth continued, Saber, who had forgotten about Dreadwing and what he had done to her, was sent on a mission with a few of her friends to retrieve one of the artifacts of the Primes and ran into Dreadwing and a few Vehicons. At first she was confused as to why Dreadwing was attacking her with such rage and it wasn't until he mentioned something about Dagger did she remember. The two fought until Dreadwing mysteriously disappeared -- having been offlined by Megatron himself.

During the Rise of the Predacons, Saber was teamed up with the Wreckers and during the destruction of all the Predacons -- save Predaking -- Saber allowed herself to be a distraction for Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack as Akila and Rune helped them back to the Autobot Base. However, as she was winning the battle against Predaking and managed to allow her teammates to successfully escape from the area, the Predaking had used her speed against her and disassembled her arms and legs. She was later brought back online thanks to the help of Wolfsbane and in time for the final assault against the Decepticons.

After Megatron's death, Saber decided to search the galaxy for a new purpose in her life and to look for survivors.
