Sera spent her youth rebelling against her delicate appearance and the expectations of her parents by rejecting anything girly.  While she's since grown out of that simplistic mindset, she still values her strength and autonomy.  She channeled this into starting her own event security company, starting with small events and building her business until it scaled to handle large events like concerts and conventions.  

While she's had a number of casual relationships, Sera was never tied to the idea that she needed a partner to have the family she wanted.  She chose to have a child as a single parent, with her childhood best friend as her donor.  Through a series of coincidences and a remarriage in her friend's family, she has unintentionally become part of a Family she never expected...
